Although the hotel is a bit old, it is well maintained and the service is very considerate. We made an appointment for breakfast at 7pm, and the waiter came in to make the bed at this time. The hot spring is an authentic sulfur hot spring, which is very good for the skin. After washing in the house, I went outside to soak. After the heat came out, I sat on the stone to cool down, and then soaked again. It was comfortable. The restaurant charges separately for drinks. I chose to drink for 1 hour. I drank a few glasses and was slightly drunk. I went back to have a warm sleep.

An extravagant Onsen Hotel experience. I came in Autumn in the depth of fall colours. Every night the wind in the trees lulled me to bed. The rooms with the private tub and terrace are awesome. Dinner and breakfast is luxurious too with a sampling of local Nikko delicacies like Yuba. A hotel for adults looking for calm and solace.

The building and facilities are old and have not been renovated since we stayed there 10 years ago, and there were no room amenities. We paid over 150,000 yen per night for this, so I don't think we'll be returning. When we checked out, I didn't want to hear the manager loudly talking badly about the main Kanaya Hotel to an older man, saying that he hated it. Does this mean he lacks professionalism as a manager...? I hope people don't say that the old Kanaya Hotel was better.

I was traveling with my parents and was attracted by the eye-catching headline of ”Open-air Private Bath”. I specially arranged to visit Nikko Chuzenji Temple and decided on this hotel without hesitation. When I checked in at the front desk, I was told that the private hot spring bath cannot be used in December due to water pipe freezing. I felt that Ctrip had not communicated well with the hotel and immediately questioned the false advertising. It is understandable that the use is suspended due to seasonal reasons, but at least it must be stated on the website (guests can choose Selfless soup room). Finally, I waited for nearly 20 minutes and repeatedly confirmed the promotion on the Chinese website before telling me that it could be used again. I don't know what the reason is?

[Advantages] - Many hotels with kitchens are a little dirty, but this one was like a model room and was clean. - Although it is an artificial hot spring, there is a large open-air stone bath, which is exciting. If you prefer a shower, there is a separate glass-enclosed shower room, so you can use both. The water pressure is strong. - Cleaning is done every three days, but there are two bath towels and two face towels for each person, so it's not a problem. - The room key is an electronic lock that changes with each check-in, so security is high even when the room is unattended. - The wifi is fast enough for five people to use. Even if you don't have HDMI, you can connect to a projector via wifi. It also has a surround sound function. - The air conditioner works great. - Five free Keurig capsule coffees are included. - In addition to the sofa, there is also a Logos folding camping chair, so five people can sit comfortably. [Disadvantages] - We used both the first and second floors, but the first floor was very noisy with footsteps. Even the sound of cleaning at lunchtime was as loud as an earthquake. Your satisfaction will likely vary depending on where you stay, or on the lifestyle of the people living on the second floor. Of course, there are no shops, so if you don't want to go out, you'll need to stock up on drinks and food.

The location by Lake Chuzenji is appealing. I was a little concerned that there was no elevator, but when I asked the manager, he said that the building was too sturdy and it would be difficult to install an elevator. Instead, the staff helped me carry my luggage up and down, so I had almost no trouble. The hot spring is small, but (when I went) most of the people there were foreigners and not many people used it, so I was able to relax and enjoy it at my leisure. The breakfast was a Japanese and Western buffet with a sufficient variety. The facilities were simple and a bit hostel-like, but it was sufficient.

A special person checked in. From the moment he parked at the hotel entrance, some waiters helped him to get to the room. Upon entering the hotel, guests will be invited to sit in the side hall and bring hot tea and cookies, very considerate. Japanese hotels do n’t have to worry about hygiene, they wo n’t disappoint guests. The best thing about the hotel is dining, whether it is breakfast or dinner, it is very rich. Breakfast is available in Japanese and Western style. Dinner is a fixed menu. There are about ten degrees. The dishes for two nights will not be the same. The recommended order includes dinner, especially for friends who have fun around. When we went, it was about 6 o'clock in the evening, and the shops and restaurants were closed, leaving only a small supermarket. There is no 24-hour convenience store near the hotel, so be careful.

We stayed at the hotel in October 2024. We took a room for 8 people, there were four of us in it. Pros: 1. The room has almost everything you need, from a washing machine to a capsule coffee machine and your own grill. 2. Very comfortable pillows and futons. 3. There is a full set of accessories for dogs. 4. There is your own onsen. 5. Heated floors in the recreation area. 6. Parking for cars. 7. Balcony with a huge table. Cons: 0. Bad location. About 20 minutes walk from the station in the opposite direction from the attractions. The hotel is in a dark, remote place. There are not sidewalks everywhere on the way to the hotel. On one side of the hotel is an industrial zone, on the other - a highway. We barely found it at night. There are no cafes or public places nearby, but there are two combinis within a 10-minute walk. There are no bus stops nearby - walk to the station, then take a bus to the attractions. The hotel is primarily intended for vacationers arriving in their own cars. The hotel itself looks like a classic American motel with entrances from the street. 1. Painful check-in: you need to enter your data into the tablet in the room, our data was lost several times, and we had to re-enter it. They require a photo of your passport, a photo of the person. Then you need to call a live employee and confirm your check-in on camera, answer questions. We could not get through to him for about 10 minutes. In total, it took us at least half an hour to check-in. 2. I discovered that the tablet we checked in on had a camera on while it was on the stand and was filming everything that was happening in the room. Of course, we did not give permission for this. I recommend removing the tablet from the stand and placing it face down on the table. 3. One toilet and one shower in a room designed for 8 people. 4. Eight people won't fit in this room. Two double beds are in one room (not very convenient, no privacy), but there is no place to put four futons for the other guests. We barely fit two futons, moving the table to the side. 5. No iron. 6. The washing machine does not show the temperature. I threw my sneakers in the dryer, after drying they shrank by two sizes (had to throw them out), since the temperature was extra-high, but there was no information about this on the washing machine display. 7. Broken door to the bathroom, slightly worn furniture.

The drive from Tokyo to the past is 3-4 hours. It is very worthwhile. The hotel has four outside ponds, three for men and women, one for women, and one hour for women in the evening. The hotel's meals are also very attentive. The only thing that happened was the outbreak of pneumonia in the country, which inevitably caused some taboos to the Chinese.
