Hotel la Rocca Resort & Spa

We are booked to stay in June 2025. The hotel’s Nikki g service has taken a $4000 Aud deposit. The hotel is not responding to any emails and no one is answering the phone. Luckily we were trying to arrange an airport transfer and did not just arrive at the hotel. We have cancelled on the booking site but no confirmation of refund. The hotel website is no longer functional and there are no further bookings at anytime. We have had no notice of any closure or inability to facilitate our booking. Nothing! Something is very wrong at La Rocca.

Never take the half pension they will make fun out of you = you want to eat at the pool or terrace near the pool it is not included in the half pension even if the food is prepared by the same kitchen At the end we left before the end (not reimbursed of course) we spend another 5’000 to go to a real 5 star hotel with a service you can expect. There is no beach at the hotel and you have to take a shuttle to go to the less beautiful beach of the island We will never comme back and would recommend to really think about going somewhere else. Alberto and his staff at La Volte restaurant and pool bar within the hotel provide exceptional service and exceptional food, and cannot be faulted. However, this should not be a 5 star hotel. Having booked with TUI, where the website states dining at the beach restaurant is included within their half board, we were astounded to discover it was not when we received a bill from the restaurant for over £800. TUI admitted their fault, and Valentina on reception informed us that due to the mistake, we would not be charged for the meal, and we could visit the beach restaurant each night until the matter was resolved. We returned once more to the beach restaurant. On checking out, both meals were on the bill. Imra at reception refused to acknowledge this nor call a manager so that the matter could be resolved. Imra insulted our intelligence stating that we might have forgotten we were told that we could not eat at the beach restaurant and that we were told that we could not eat certain items on the menu, this was not true. Whilst reception manager Valentina was helpful, the lack of communication between the hotel staff caused us considerable distress. Alongside this, refurbishments to the hotel villa were being carried out causing considerable noise from the pneumatic drill being used whilst a wall was rendered. It is neither on the TUI or hotel website that construction works would be carried out during our stay. We informed Imra and the hotel manager, another Valentina, that the noise had woken our children, but Imra’s answer to this was that it was gardening work and if it bothered us to shut our door! Requests for toilet roll- a basic necessity- were acknowledged but not provided. In short, this was an extremely stressful holiday at what is advertised to be a 5 star hotel.

Pros: Probably the best service and staff in Sardinia? Probably the best food in Sardinia; from breakfast to dinner - everything is absolutely perfect. Very calm and relaxed hotel. Free shuttle to their private beach. Free shuttle to Baja Sardinia. Their private beach is perfectly located, also it has showers and clean toilets. Rooms are clean, modern and generously spaced. Towels are replaced twice every day. Great indoor spa with jacuzzi and 3 different saunas. Super clean outdoor pool. Free parking if you have a car. In summary, they will cater to your different needs. Cons: Only minor things, such as rooms are not specially good sound proofed if you have loud neighbors, and the hotel is not very centrally located. I recommend renting a car.

Our stay at La Rocca was fantastic, the staff were very knowledgeable about the local area and gave us some great recommendations (Valentina from their concierge team was very helpful throughout the stay). The location is very central and easy to get to Porto Cervo and surrounding beaches of Northern Sardinia.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at La Rocca. The location, room, grounds, food and spa were superb. But it is truly the staff at the hotel that raise it to another level. Nothing is too much trouble and as we were amongst the last at the resort for the season, they really spoiled us. Thank you Valentina and Irma at Reception, Fabio for our nightly drinks, Samuele in the dining room and all the others who made us very happy.
