This is the first time I have reviewed a hotel so seriously. I told everyone about the problems I encountered and prepared myself for the expected events in advance. Let me talk about the good things about the hotel first, and then complain about the bad things. Advantages: Ruijin Haifeng has a good location, with convenience stores and seafood restaurants downstairs. It is indeed the best hotel in Semporna. The hotel's infinity pool has a nice view, clean water, and a children's entertainment area. The rooms are of a suitable size and the view facing the sea is also nice. Minefields: 1. The hotel service attitude is good, but they just don't do anything. I asked for mineral water for three consecutive days, but no one brought it. No matter how much I told the front desk and the cleaning staff, it was useless. They just said: no one brought it. I had to buy it at the convenience store downstairs. 2. I checked into a twin room booked by the hotel, but the hotel changed it to a double room without my permission. After we found out, we communicated with a person in charge at the front desk and asked if we could get an extra quilt. The hotel said: pay more! (RM250 a day) I was speechless. It was the hotel's mistake and they asked me to pay for it. Moreover, the front desk knew that they had changed the room type without permission, but they just asked us to pay extra for the quilt (hotel policy). I asked the hotel to contact the manager, but they said he was off work and I didn't know how long it would take to get in touch with him. Ctrip subsequently intervened, but communication was fruitless. But Ctrip is still very helpful and provided us with a guaranteed plan, so we have to give it a thumbs up. At around 12 o'clock in the morning, when I went to the front desk to argue again, the guy who made the mistake and was processing the on-boarding procedures quietly gave me a quilt. Alas...this is the so-called 5-star service in the local area. 3. There are two strange designs in the room, see the attached pictures. The shower head in the shower room is estimated to be 1.3 meters high. Men basically have to half-squat or use one hand to take a shower. I don't know what the hotel was thinking when designing it. There is no plug for the hair dryer on the sink, so you have to move to the water-boiling area to blow dry your hair. This design is speechless. 4. Breakfast is very average, very average, very average. 5. There is no service in the infinity pool, so please bring your own towel when you go there. It was completely in the style of a resort. After booking, I contacted the boss on WeChat. The boss was very considerate and told us what to prepare in advance. Including our trip to the sea, which was arranged by the boss. The service was very meticulous. Before I arrived in Semporna, a special service group had been set up. When I arrived, they would arrange airport pick-up in advance. I didn’t have to worry about it along the way. If I had any questions, I could ask in the group and they would reply at any time. The two-bedroom room we stayed in was very large and clean. There were shuttle buses to the town. They would recommend local food and it was very cost-effective. It was a pity that the schedule was tight, otherwise I really wanted to stay a few more days. I will have a chance to go there and have fun for a few days next time. I still chose to stay at Pineapple Sea~

Staying here was a truly memorable experience. The resort is set in a serene location with a picturesque lake where you can fish and even take a boat ride around. The unique touch of being able to bring your catch to the kitchen and have the chef cook it up for dinner was a real highlight. You can also buy fresh seafood from the local market and ask the chef to prepare it however you like for a very reasonable fee. The food, prepared by the owner and chef who hail from Guangdong, was the best I’ve tasted in Semporna. Each dish was bursting with flavor, showcasing authentic Chinese cuisine at its finest. The resort is about 15 minutes from Semporna town, but they offer a free shuttle service to and from the town, which makes it incredibly convenient for guests. At night, there’s outdoor karaoke under the stars, creating a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Overall, the resort had a homely vibe, with the owner and staff going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The resort itself is new, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. I felt right at home the entire time. The peaceful surroundings, combined with excellent service and food, made this a perfect getaway. To note that the staff mainly communicates in Mandarin, so knowing a bit of the language would be helpful. I stayed here for a night after a 5 day dive trip and this was the perfect place to unwind and relax. I loved my stay so much that I can’t wait to return. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat in Semporna!

You can go to the town to buy it and then ask the boss to help process it. During the processing, you can wash and clean up, and then you can go to the restaurant for dinner. It is really comfortable. The lights are on at night, the homestay is super beautiful, and there is also a swimming pool, you can let go and take pictures. If you bring children, it is also a good place for leisure and entertainment. It is also very convenient to go to the airport. You can ask the boss to help you book a car to pick you up and pay the fare. The boss will arrange it for you. It is really a wonderful experience. Here, you can really feel the joy of vacation. It is not an exaggeration to say that it is a paradise. Also, when we came that day, it was noon, and there was no room available. I was also very tired and didn’t want to go out. The boss also asked very considerately, and then let us eat something first. Although it was breakfast, it was delicious for us who had just finished the plane. There was also free mineral water. For us who were tired at the time, our hearts were really warm. Of course, the price may be slightly more expensive than other hotels in town, but it is really not expensive for his service. The price-performance ratio is very high. It is worth recommending.

It's really worth choosing Banyan Tree Villa Hotel for this trip to Semporna! As soon as I got off the car, someone greeted me. Check-in was super fast. The housekeeper also helped me plan the itinerary, which was very considerate. The room faces the sea, and I am awakened by the beautiful sea view every day. The private swimming pool is also great, and I am not afraid of being disturbed at all.

Airport pick-up is a charge, but it is cheaper than taking a taxi on Grab. When I arrived on the first day, it was afternoon and I didn't report the island hopping itinerary. After asking the boss's wife, I reported a half-day tour of the mangrove forest. It was pretty good and I could really see a lot of fireflies. The room facilities are very new and clean, with a hair dryer and mosquito repellent, and the hot water for bathing is also stable. Our room is on the first floor, but there is no situation that others say that there are people talking in the public area late at night. Maybe the guests living with us are relatively quiet. The sound insulation is really not very good. If people walk upstairs, we can hear the sound in our room. There is a buffet breakfast every day, and the boss's wife will buy mangosteen for us to eat. Mangosteen is super delicious and cheap! On the last day, we had to leave for the airport at 5 am, and the boss's wife also contacted a car to send us to the airport, which did not delay the trip at all, and the price was reasonable. The schedule was full every day so I forgot to take pictures of the hotel, so I'll post a picture of breakfast ~ Anyway, I highly recommend it!

At first u have to wait the receptionist to open the door for u as the reception is at the second floor while the door entrance is at the first floor. The room is just nice, clean, quite and comfortable. It’s more like hostel look so i think it’s quite expensive for a hotel. Otherwise i enjoyed the stay.
