We had planned on a trip to the Rio ***** Hot Springs in the Rincon National Park, as we had visited there some 10 years ago and had enjoyed the natural, secluded river side vibe they provided ( no one else was there the time we visited). But when we researched and found the current cost to be some $30 US pp, we decided to try our hot springs experience elsewhere. An internet search led us to Colinas de Miravalles. We didn’t stay overnight at this complex; we bought a day pass (5,000 colones /$9 US each) to enjoy the grounds and pools for the day, I guess partially because their is no “attraction” listing on Tripadvisor, people perhaps aren’t aware of the existence of this place, because there were only a handful of others there. They have an assortment of pools with warm and warmer water temperatures; spacious grounds ( with change facilities, picnic tables and a nice view of Miravalles Volcano) etc. There is a small restaurant ( where we has a tasty, reasonably priced lunch) and massage facilities that my wife took advantage of, and friendly staff. You also have the option of bringing food and beverages with you, picnic style. For the money, this was one of the best value Costa Rica experiences we had.
