We have been to the Aqualon thermal baths several times and enjoy going there, which is why we chose the associated Hotel Schweizerblich for our holiday in Bad Säckingen. Entry to the thermal baths is included in the room price, but unfortunately we didn't have time to take advantage of it. The reception staff and the cleaning staff are very friendly. About the room Our room was in the basement and both the mobile network and WiFi were rather poor. As there was no terrace, making phone calls in the room was rather difficult. The room was nice and the furniture was modern. Unfortunately there was no fridge, but we did have a small tea station in the room with very tasty teas, and there was also coffee, but as I don't drink coffee I can't comment on that. The mattress was rather hard, personally not my cup of tea but as everyone here has different preferences, just for your information. The pillow was much too flat on the first night, but I asked for a second pillow the next day and had one put in my room. In contrast to the room, the bathroom was unfortunately anything but modern. The color reminded me of the 70s and the layout of the bathroom was also rather unfortunate. There was a bathtub with a shower and a shower curtain. The toilet was between the sink and the bathtub and was too close to the bathtub for my taste (when I'm on the toilet, I don't want to hit my leg on the bathtub). On the opposite side there was only the towel rail and the heater, so a lot of unused space. There was almost no storage space, so we had to keep our toiletry bags in the room. Maybe you could put a small table or a small shelf in the bathroom as additional storage space or something, there would be enough space. Instead of glasses, there were cardboard toothbrush cups in the bathroom. My first thought was for environmental reasons, my second thought was that glass or porcelain would be much more environmentally friendly and wouldn't have to be replaced every day, so probably more so that you don't have to clean them. There is a soap dispenser and a dispenser in the shower with shower gel/shampoo. The soap is OK, but the positioning directly above the toilet paper holder is rather inconvenient as water often drips onto it. I can't say anything about the shower gel as I used my own. Regarding cleanliness, I have to say that when we arrived, there were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling in both the room and the bathroom and there were crumbs on one of the chairs and on the table. Breakfast has the usual drinks as well as jam and cheese/sausages at the buffet, plus there were scrambled eggs and hard-boiled eggs. The hotel is also a bit out of the way, so you always have to drive if you want to go somewhere. Next time I will look for a different hotel.
