Casas do Juizo - Country Houses

My husband and I and two other couples spent a night at Casas do Juizo while on a self guided cycling tour through the historic villages and Douro Valley. This stay was the absolute highlight of our journey, however don’t misunderstand as there were many great experiences and accommodations on our adventure. The wonder of this Casa is well documented in other reviews, but I can’t help but reiterate all the amazingness. Casa do Juizo is indeed a very special place, situated in the picturesque small village of Juizo in the Côa valley. The tiny stone houses of the village and its narrow street are beautifully preserved and one quite literally feels lost in time. The suites or houses of the property are quite honestly beyond words and so rich in history. If only the rooms could tell their story!!! They are each very unique, spacious, beautifully restored and decorated. The combination of traditional features and decor balanced with all the modern comforts create a most magical setting. If anything could top the charm and wonder of the houses themselves it would be the incredible genuine hospitality of Andre and Daniela. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival. An efficient check in was followed by a delicious drink of fig liquor and then we were each shown to our houses. Andre offered us a basket of wine glasses with our wine purchase and we sat in the beautiful glassed area to wait out a rain shower. The fresh fragrance of the rain and the rainbow just added to our fairy tale. Andre and Daniela run the beautiful tavern called Taberna do Juiz, just around the corner and we enjoyed a delicious dinner there. The atmosphere, intimate and warm and the food and wine were absolutely delicious. Andre and Daniela sat and spent their evening with us after our meal and their company was a gift! We also enjoyed a delicious breakfast the next morning before departure. The pride and attention to detail is obvious in every aspect of the experience, from the clean rooms, to the delicious food and it’s presentation and especially the calm kind presence of this team. Their humble efforts and hard work is commendable and we wish them every success. If you don’t stay here when exploring this beautiful piece of Portugal you are truly missing out. We hope to return one day for more magic!

We were booked in here by Headwater for one night on our cycling holiday. As we rode into the village we were warmly greeted by Andre (he and his delightful wife Daniela manage the accommodation and own the associated taberna further into the village). Andre and Daniela do not normally open the taberna at lunchtime but, to our delight and amazement they organised, witin 30 minutes, a feast of ham, cheese, figs, grapes, tomatoes, fruits, breads etc. A wonderful surprise. Dinner in the taberna that evening was utterly delicious - Daniela is a superb cook. And breakfast next morning, a huge basket of delicious goodies delivered to the door of our accommodation, was sensational. The accommodation itself is huge and suited our needs perfectly. Andre and Daniela are real stars - they were great company, and they clearly take enormous pride in providing great hospitality, And they work so hard to look after the whole complex and run their taberna. if you are thinking of staying in this area of Portugal, you absolutely must try to stay here - it was a wonderful experience for us and our two friends.

Um misto de sossego e segurança foi assim que minha família se sentiu falo por todos apesar do tempo que mudou repentinamente .... nós adoramos tudo a anfitriã foi MARAVILHOSA . Saímos sem saber o que íamos encontrar e encontramos PAZ CONFORTO CASA LIMPA QUENTINHA E MUITO EQUIPADA . A nova gerencia é fantástica um trabalho incrível d.giselle acho que é assim que se escreve o nome da sra. E seu esposo trabalham muito ela é educada e nos atendeu em todos os pormenores ..tivemos vários problemas antes de vir inclusive com amigos que não vieram e não sabem o que perderam .. As quase 11 da noite ela veio nos serviu do que precisávamos debaixo de chuva super prestativa prestativa e no final já não queríamos mesmo ir embora .. foi bom demais minha família agradece ... Desde o desconto ao favor de nós dispensar dinheiro a pagar por causa de falha nossa ,até vir nos ajudar com a utilização da casa as tantas da noite e estando trabalhando no restaurante que também trabalham teve muita paciência ..OBRIGADA ... Muito bom só agradecer e em breve voltaremos em maior número ... Amamos tudo e sairemos com a maior saudade de voltar ...e também o restaurante MURTEIRA'S ÁGAPE é perfeito excelente DIVINAL.

Типичный дом из камня северной Португалии. Комнаты не большие, кровати для 2 взрослый очень маленькие - подойдут для одного взрослого и ребенка. Туалетная косметика приятная. Им же принадлежит единственный ресторан в деревне.... что влияет на цены и на уровень обсуживание... Долгое, не качественное обсуживание - забирать тарелки перед лицом, перебивать наши разговоры... то поставить пустые тарелки, то убирет... Ресторан холодный, не прогретый. Маленький выбор вина, блюд.. Лучше поесть в Фош Де Коа или в другом месте, где есть выбор. Самое ужасное это сотрудник Жизель. Она по нашему заселению принесла 5 пультов от всех комнат, которые мы снили. Когда мы были в их ресторане все пульты пропали из комнат и общего зала... Когда мы вернулись к ней в ресторан и спросили где лежат наши пульты - она сказала, они были в комнатах, а мы их украли и она сейчас вообще вызовит полицию... А ЗАЧЕМ они их брать? Если на улице -2 и нам надо топить комнаты. На что она стала кричать и орать "vai embora", устроив скандал и испоритив настроение и вечер выходного дня! Снимала все на телефон без нашего согласия! Утром даже не зашла в дом - пряталась у соседнего дома, когда мы выезжали.. Очень грубый, хамский не гостепримный прием! При этом в ресторане мы упели донесли вилку до рта, как она сообщила социальные сети ресторана и отеля и мы ДОЛЖНЫ поставить им "5"... А через час устроила скандал, с ором, криком и угрозами... Если она хозяйка дома, она не заслуживает вашего визита в ее дома... если она работница, то хозяева должны знать, что Жизель распугает всех гостей и вы не сможете с ней сделать своей бизнес - меняйте персонал!

Adorámos! Desde a casa quentinha quando chegámos, à visita aos animais da Quinta, ao bolinho de boas-vindas, cápuslas de café e vários chás, salamandra e muita madeira para nosso uso, tudo foi muito bom e agradável. Fizeram-nos sentir em casa.

As casas do Juízo possuem tudo para proporcionar uma estadia em família muito tranquila, e estão numa excelente localização para facilmente se visitar as Aldeias Históricas. A srª Mónica foi extremamente prestável e com uma enorme simpatia. Sem dúvida um experiência a repetir.
