B&B Dorwyn Manor

Room was warm and breakfast good. Building a little tired could do with updating. Hosts were friendly. Could have done with a better sign as we passed it and had to google location. Good base to see the standing stones and Silbury hill. Enjoyed the village.

Friendly hosts, gorgeous room with outstanding bath & great shower. Just outside the Avebury stone ring, other attractions nearby. Everything we could want with only one drawback—our lovely room was up a set of steep stairs, not easy to negotiate with suitcases. Don’t let that stop you—it’s worth the climb.

Mike and his family have created a full open hearted welcome in a beautiful home. We lacked for nothing and were offered everything including a magnificent breakfast! The wonder of Avebury is just down the road and there is a full library that had all the information we needed. A full recommendation Carole and David

Very clean and comfortable accommodation. I'd particularly like to give a shout out to Mike, the host. A most welcoming chap, who went above and beyond , ferrying me to the local pub for an evening meal, and then drove me to the start of my walk along the Ridgeway at Overton Hill. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our one-night stop at Dorwyn Manor, early in our 3-week trip. In fact, we liked it so much that before we left we'd re-booked for another couple of nights at the *end* of the trip! Wonderfully comfortable bed, huge bathroom (complete with spa bath), friendly hosts/staff and fantastic breakfasts!!! All this and just on the doorstep of Avebury village, which is just a minute's drive or a 10 minute walk. But here's the thing - you won't want to walk. As small as Avebury is, it seems that most of Wiltshire's traffic goes right through the middle. And that means it goes right past Dorwyn Manor. Since the road has no footpath, walking into the village would be perilous at best. The other downside of the traffic is the amount of road noise you get, even through the night. I don't think the rooms have double glazed windows, but whether or not they do is unimportant - there's still a lot of instrusive traffic noise. If you're a heavy sleeper, or you're used to a noisy urban setting, then you'll have no problems. But if, like me, you're a light sleeper who really likes peace and quiet then you might want to get some earplugs. The place itself is great, though. Absolutely wonderful. It's just a shame about that traffic rumble....

A lovely establishment with very caring hosts. Top-notch rooms and an excellent, customizable breakfast. Couldn't ask for more! I recommend this place for an excellent stay in Avebury. You will be very happy with the establishment and the staff.
