Room was clean and hotel was right on the beach, but it was a very small, expensive room (no beach view) and we had to walk up many stairs (no elevator) and with luggage it wasn’t easy. The staff was excellent and they even called us to let us know we could check in early so that was unexpectedly nice. The hotel is old and the rooms need to be remodeled

Friendly staff, Cute and great location The staff were great. Very accommodating and friendly. This is an older hotel, right on the Main Street where the restaurants and shops are. Right across from the beach. Very convenient. Our room was very small and no view, just the patio area. The room was cute and very clean. They said breakfast was included which were pastries, yogurt and coffee. It was pricey for what we got but I guess it’s about the location. What we didn’t like was to get to the office and rooms you had to go up two flights of stairs, there wasn’t an elevator. If someone is in a wheel chair or crutches, this isn’t the place for you.

Daniel (front desk) was the best host! He called us the night before to pre-order breakfast...which was unexpected and awesome...he was well informed with regards to dining and breakfast facilities...he was very attentive and made the experience feel more than what we payed for! Great experience at MacRae Hotel!

Front desk was not very friendly. It was very noisy throughout the night, several people banging their suitcases on the stairs and slamming doors. Location was great.

The overall stay wasn’t bad, and the service at front desk was amazing. However our room 204 had a very strong sulfur smell when the shower was turned on pretty sure it was coming from shower water it made it super unpleasant to shower

This hotel is well maintained but in need of updates. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location is amazing. We were aware that it was the oldest hotel in the area but minor touch ups would go a long way.

Catalina Island is lovely and this beautiful hotel is placed right in the center of it! Our room overlooked the ocean and was fairly spacious. The greatest benefit however is definitely the location! You can walk to any restaurant, shop, or excursion from this hotel! The staff is also very kind and helpful. They even allow you to drop off your luggage before check in. The ONLY complaint I could have is that their included breakfast is very basic- yogurt, some fruit, coffee, and a croissant.

Our family stay at Hotel Mac Rae was an awesomely experience! The property is conveniently located with beaches, shopping and dining options! We enjoyed our stay to the core with best staff and cleanliness of the room. We will sure to visit again soon!
