Firehouse Hostel

Austin周辺ではここが一番安いドミトリーの宿だった。仕方なく泊まったが夜、ライブハウスのビルがあるのか分からないけど10時から1時ぐらいまで煩くて寝付けなかった。後は立地はAustinの中心部だったので、それほど不便はしなかった。全体的に綺麗とまではいえないが、許容の範囲内のドミトリーだった。また泊まりかと言えば泊まりたくないです。

Wonderful hostel for students or budget travelers. Even though I was traveling solo I was never alone. Met nice, friendly folks both my age and other ages in the kitchen. It is situated right across from the Driskill Hotel—a superb location. There is a 7-Eleven nearby for emergency snacks and beverages, plus many restaurants and coffeehouses. Overall, a very memorable stay. I will definitely stay here again!

It's one of the best hostels I’ve been to. They have privet beds in a shared room; they use curtains for privacy. I loved it! Right now the bars and they even have a bad themselves. They have a nice kitchen as well. The only thing I wish they had more privacy in the bathroom.

Comfortable, friendly, good location right off of 6th street. Everything was great but the main issue was the bar/club below--in theory a great way to meet people when travelling--was so loud that i could feel the vibrations in my bed on the 2nd floor all the way til 2am. And this was a Wednesday. Made it hard to sleep even with earplugs. It's too bad because everything else was great.

Fun place to stay. I loved the history of the building, and the lounge was cool. The staff were hands off, but helpful and kind when I needed something. Great location in the heart of downtown: I was within walking distance of everything I had planned to see. The only downside was the bathroom needed some TLC (maintenance and cleaning).

Nice hostel. Staff are very friendly, and amenities are generally pretty clean (kitchen, bathroom, etc.). The building itself is quite old and historic, which is cool - but also makes it feel a bit shabby. My only complaint is about the noise, as there's a speakeasy bar on the first floor, right below all the rooms... it can be a bit loud until 2am (when "quiet hours" start). Otherwise, lovely place. Great value for the money, right in downtown close to anything you'd want to do.

Austin is a sweet and very pretty town with that serious edge typical of the U.S. -- live music and twinkly lights everywhere, a host of trees and lots of people walking the streets, amid the myriad bars and eateries, unlike the major urban behemoths of America which are essentially deserted after sunset, with the exception of World City New York. Anyway, the hostel is a nice quiet refuge from the bustling streets, albeit situated above a kind of modern speakeasy downstairs and right in the middle of local activity; everything is provided, especially a well-equipped kitchen open till late -- like 3 a.m., as it should be in any civilised establishment. The dormitories appear small at first glance but seem to work very efficiently -- there are reading lights, air-conditioning and good wifi. If there's one area which could use improvement though, it's the bathrooms -- which, while they're clean, need more hooks and soap-holders in the showers, for example, and in which quite a few of the shower faucets themselves require attention, probably replacing. This is a small matter though in a very pleasant and welcoming hostel, which is also good value for money. Thank you for your help and kingness.

For a hostel I can’t complain. The bed is not comfortable, and the blankets have holes but everything is clean and the staff was very nice. If you are looking for a cheap place you can pass out after a night on 6th st you will be happy with your stay. It is loud until 2 am. Headphones or little ear plugs work well but who is going to bed that early.
