Great hotel. Modern, clean, but with a lot of character. There is a great restaurant on site, along with with a separate cafe for genuine barista coffee and breakfast.

I loved the 'vibe' and overall design. The room was a nice size and very comfortable. I also loved the proximity to Zilkr Park. Good coffee. Only complaint there - croissants seem store bought, not flaky as a croissant should be.

We had a wonderful stay at The Carpenter. The boutique hotel felt intimate and accommodating. My sister and I loved the use of raw materials that maintained an eco friendliness without sacrificing elegant design. My daughters loved the pool and view of both that and the city skyline from our balcony. We all enjoyed the hotel's proximity to our favorite stomping grounds while visiting home. Highly recommend

The Carpenter hotel would have fit right in with the decor of Wes Anderson's Atomic City - in the best ways possible. The color pallet, the friendliness, the feeling of being home away from home was all here. We appreciated the coffee bar (bring your own records!) to the location that was near everything and everyone you wanted to be in Austin.
Can't wait to return and experience it all again.

One of the most satisfying things about being on vacation is waking up and relaxing in bed with a cup of coffee. Even if it's in-room, powdered creamer kind of coffee LOL. Not only is there NO coffee in the rooms, but you are then forced to get dressed and go to the lobby to buy a coffee. On our trip, the employee had called in sick! Thankfully the front desk person did brew a pot of coffee, but still had to wrestle myself out of the very cozy bed, get dressed, brush teeth, etc. just to get a cup of coffee.
Please put coffee makers in the room! Otherwise, the property is amazing :)
