Lake Austin Spa Resort - All Inclusive

We knew that the resort was highly-rated, but could not have anticipated a nicer experience. All the members of the staff are so genuinely kind and helpful. They anticipate every need. The food is exceptional, delicious, and healthy, without being pretentious or fussy. The whipped ricotta with lemon and honey was one of the best dishes I have ever tasted! Thank you, Chef James! The location is superbly peaceful on the lake. The classes and instructors are passionate about their subjects and very knowledgeable. We took classes such as morning yoga by the lake, tarot card reading, Japanese wooden swords, floating meditation, and took kayaks out on the river. Thanks to Natalie, Hunter, Melody, Zoey, and others who made our experience truly memorable!

My mom, sister, and I have been coming to Lake Austin Spa Resort every other year since 2012. It was always our favorite retreat — peaceful, welcoming, and high quality in every way. Unfortunately, this recent visit made it clear that the resort has changed, and not for the better. The once warm and cozy atmosphere now feels dated. The food quality has noticeably declined, and service, while friendly, was uninformed and inconsistent. Even the spa and common areas felt less clean and maintained than in years past. There were still some bright spots. The lake setting is beautiful, and instructors and guest speakers were excellent, but overall, the experience no longer matches the premium price. After over a decade of visits, we're considering finding a new mother-daughter getaway. Longtime guests should be aware: this is not the same Lake Austin Spa it used to be.

I’m sorry to say after having been to Lake Austin many years ago, I was sorely disappointed! There was nothing redeeming about it. It has so much potential under the right management but totally missing it. While in the only ladies restroom in the main building staff member had her makeup spread out on counter and was brushing her teeth! Also large sign at main pool said no pets allowed in pool and if you’ve had diarrhea in the past few weeks stay out of pool. That’s very inviting! I don’t know how they can charge what they are charging and have any repeat guests. You can only go on your past reputation so long! I won’t be back!

I have made 6 phones calls/voicemails/messages to the general manager about a refund. None of my phone calls have ever been returned. I did speak to the general manager one time and she said that she would give me a partial refund. The partial refund has never been applied. Not sure why she still has a job there if she can't call me back and lied to me about the refund. I was told she was the escalation point. The rooms are old and outdated. The rooms smell like mold and mildew. They put a diffuser in the room to cover the musty smell. The fragrance from the diffuser is overwhelming and caused a headache even after the diffuser was removed. Even though I booked a king room, all they could offer me was room 18 which had 2 queens. The room had a sloped floor due to foundation issues. The TV did not work. The lamp did not work. The shower door did not go all the way to the floor and I stepped out into 3 inches of water on the floor due to the inferior shower door. The garden library smells like mold and mildew. The food was fine - not organic, some processed and ultra processed food is available. The chef was extremely pleasant and took great care of me. The staff seems to work hard and is very professional. Unfortunately, the staff has no authority to resolve complicated issues or financial issues - so nothing gets done. When I was onsite, I was told the general manager was unavailable and it could be hours or days to hear back from her. Again, 6 calls to the general manager over 2 weeks and nothing has been done. No email, no phone calls, no refund, nothing. The general manager ruins all the hard work her employees put in. This is not a wellness hotel. This is a toxic environment with a mix of chemicals and mildew/mold in the rooms. There are many other better options in Austin to spend your money at.

Just returned from a three night stay, a three generation trip. I can honestly say the entire staff went above and beyond for my family in the most meaningful ways. My mom has some mobility issues and when she realized her room did not have a step in shower, she told the staff and that same night they offered her two alternative places to shower and set them both up for her. Hunter and Julie took care of her and helped us shuttle back and forth to the spa. The food was amazing at every meal, the menus had just enough variety, and the staff in the restaurants were terrific. We enjoyed the classes. This was my first visit here, but it will most definitely not be the last!

Heaven on earth. It’s one of many superlatives to describe our incredible four-night girls’ trip. It was an ideal spot to relax, reconnect, and indulge in luxury. The spa is world-class, and the treatments are incredible. We booked facials, massages, floating meditation sessions and intensive foot repair – we were so pampered that, while reluctant to leave, we left feeling relaxed, refreshed and recharged. The energizing fitness classes, yoga sessions and morning hikes were first-rate and allowed us to indulge in the fabulous organic, farm-to-table meals and the scrumptious desserts. The staff is exceptional and I wish I could remember everyone’s name but would like to give a shout-out to Michelle, Logan, Dave, Shana, Nette, Kathy, Bianca, Dennis, Cale and Renee as well as to everyone we interacted with while we were there. Next time I’ll be sure to write everyone’s name down, so I don’t forget. We are already planning a return visit – can’t wait. Thank you.
