Suburban Studios Auburn Hills - Detroit

Terrible I checked in at the front desk and left out to get food at a local restaurant. When I got back to the room there was no bed in the room as it was just a frame. I the room was filthy and smelled of urine. The front desk receptionist was really rude and was unhelpful as he stated to me “your guess is as good as mine” I asked him what do I do from here. This is highly unprofessional and was by far the worst experience I have ever had in my life staying at a hotel.

This was by far the nastiest, dirtiest, least friendly place I have stayed in the past 20 or so years. The clerk on duty at check in was friendly, and went to check if our room had been cleaned. As it turns out the room was dirty, there were stains on the countertops and refrigerator door. The smoke alarm wiring was there but the alarm itself must have been ripped off. There was no toilet paper in the room, and no one readily available to get any. After knocking on the office door and calling the desk with no response, we called Choice Hotels corporate office who managed to raise someone in the office from his deep sleep. When I went to get the TP, no apology or have a good night. This morning we tried to check out (three days ahead of schedule) there was no one apparently at the desk. Finally, someone managed to raise an employee (apparently from a nap) who came to the door barefoot . He took our keys, but was not able to accommodate a refund of our prepaid nights. We are still working to receive credit. Avoid this location at all costs or stay at your own risk. Terrible place.

The bed and pillows are very comfortable. Our room was quiet and clean. The staff here, like Matt, are accommodating, and gave us a second office chair to use with our laptops, and free Wi-Fi. The refrigerator, stove top burners, and microwave oven were clean and worked well. When we travel anywhere, we bring our own utensils kit, which we use for preparing small meals, and coffee. Suburban is an all-around good deal.

Staff are friendly. Matt, Brittney, Jr and Bear are very helpful and would take good care of you. Location is very convenient.

Very bad experience. Property appeared unkept and I could not contact anyone by phone or in the office.

Couldn't use the kitchen, stove top had rust on the heating surface, woke up to a roach in the bathroom, no lights worked besides the on in the kitchen, food just laying in a stairwell, to mcuh surprised this place is opened still will all the health violations i seen being broken.
