We stayed at Hotel Jerome over Thanksgiving week and genuinely enjoyed our time there. The hotel was located in a convenient spot in downtown Aspen, and everything we wanted to check out in town was just a quick walk away. The hotel staff almost always greeted us and checked in to see if we were enjoying our stay. The one thing I did not like was the automatic 22% gratuity added to every dining bill. While I did appreciate that the servers pointed this out to us when providing the check, there was no option to reduce the gratuity percentage to a level we believed to be appropriate based on the level of service received. While we probably would not have adjusted it for most experiences, there were a few occasions where 22% simply was not warranted. The hotel has a fantastic vibe, and it's history is steep. I did feel like some of the common areas could have been cleaned up (dusted, mirrors wiped down, etc.), particularly for an Auberge resort. Let me be clear though, the rooms were very clean and nicely maintained. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.
