The St. Regis Aspen Resort

Our summer stay (August '24, 3 Nights) at The St. Regis Residences in Aspen, Colorado, was nothing short of extraordinary. We stayed in a luxurious three-bedroom residence that perfectly balanced comfort and elegance, offering stunning mountain views and top-of-the-line amenities. From the moment we arrived, the exceptional service made us feel welcome and pampered, with Jocelyn, Jennifer, Matthew, and Conner providing personal attention that made our trip truly special. My three daughters absolutely loved the experience, from the cozy fireplaces to the free bicycles we used to explore Aspen. The central location allowed us to easily access the vibrant downtown, and the concierge team helped us arrange everything from hiking adventures to dining reservations. What a wonderful hotel!!!!! The service, the rooms, the attention to detail was just outstanding. A particular thank you to Leslie at the bar and to Garzon in the restaurant. They were just great Everyone else was just fantastic. It is well worth the money. Thank you!!!

The hotel property is absolutely beautiful. You are overlooking the mountain if you have the right room and there’s a beautiful courtyard with flowers and hummingbirds no complaints. The prop is impeccable. The shuttle service guys are wonderful as well as the front desk. People are fabulous. The restaurant needs improvement as far as service is concernedslowest service ever wrong food comes out might take an hour and a half just eat breakfast unfortunately did not have time we had an appointment, but the breakfast took forever due to slow service

From the moment we arrived at the St, Regis Aspen Resort, we were captivated by the impeccable attention to detail that defines this luxury destination. The valet service was exceptionally accommodating, swiftly handling our luggage and ensuring it was delivered to our room within minutes. The front desk staff were equally impressive, offering helpful and warm assistance that set the tone for our stay.

So far, this stay has not met our expectations of The St. Regis Aspen... 1/19/2024 — Friday • This is my 27th time here, though not every time to this hotel. Typical stay is five or six nights, usually six, so we do consider ourselves regulars. • Although we checked in at almost 3 AM on our first night, they were very clear that if we didn't show up they were going to charge our credit card about $1700 PLUS TAX for one night of missed stay, so we did something kind of stupid, which was to rent a car and drive over Vail Pass, the Eisenhower Tunnel, and Glenwood Canyon — which was treacherous and stressful, and took just under seven hours from Denver international airport. • And of course, you-know-who had to listen to a barrage of comments about my bad judgment. • In the end though, I was complimented with doing a safe and competent drive, although my body is stiff and I don't feel great. • That first night (1/17/24), even though the thermostat was set at 71°, heat just kept pumping out and it was 81°F in our room, very uncomfortable, so we asked for some repair...maintenance guys spent a couple of hours in our room with us yesterday and this morning when we got up it was 53°F in here and so cold that I had to turn on the shower and the bathtub hot water just to get a little heat into the room which promptly steamed up everything as one might imagine. Basically we went from heat that doesn't shut off to air-conditioning that doesn't shut off. • There also was an incessant chirping coming through the wall from the next room, 515, and it apparently was a smoke detector but constant chirping and not just every minute or so like happens at home when a battery is dead. • Our other complaint revolves around the newly imagined spa, because we are used to spending about 20 minutes just going into the Jacuzzi for 10 minutes and into the sauna for 10 minutes as a complimentary benefit, given our titanium elite status with Bonvoy and our previous Platinum status with Starwood. And we only do that maybe three of the six nights we stay. However, they will not accommodate our request and instead want to charge us $90 each to sit in a Jacuzzi for 10 minutes. And, there is a 22% mandatory gratuity on top of that. This is not well run! I think a lot of the problem is that they consider that a "day-pass", and 20 minutes does not constitute a day. • Also, the Saint Regis BUTLER at the airport needs to be empowered to herself go check the storage areas with the airlines, since there's no point in standing in line with a zillion other people to file a baggage complaint when the suitcase is right there behind a closed door. • Finally, one of the elevators is out and they have been working on it and were not able to fix it yesterday and people are definitely complaining. • On the flipside, prior to arrival we had multiple messages from the concierge and also to advise us about Butler service, and it seems to me that they've done a really good job of drumming up

This trip was amazing in every way. The weather, scenery and things to do but especially the hotel. The staff was attentive, the food was delicious and the presentation beautiful. The rooms were beautifully appointed The bedding, bathroom amenities and turn down service was excellent. I highly recommend the St. Regis to everyone traveler.

First of all, the positives - the rooms themselves are nicely appointed with numerous amenities and are very comfortable. Having access to hotel cars that take you around town on demand with very friendly drivers was really great as well. If you're a dog person, you're going to love this hotel. If you're not, or if you're allergic to dogs, or if your three-year old son is terrified of them if they are bigger than he is, or if you'd just prefer a more sophisticated vacation without having to dodge dogs in the lobby, the hallways, the restaurant, the pool, the elevator, and the front entrance, then it's going to be a very long vacation. We were appalled at the size of the dogs allowed in this "4-star" property. At breakfast our last morning, there were EIGHTEEN dogs in the restaurant. That's crazy. CRAZY. Some of the animals were bigger than the breakfast tables themselves. One family had two of these large dogs, and when one of them got off their leash and started running around the restaurant, it set off a barking frenzy with the other dogs. We stayed here two nights. My wife is allergic to dogs. She spent both nights in the room sneezing because we usually rode on the elevator with at least one dog. It took some coaxing of our three-year old to leave the hotel each time because he was afraid of dogs that might hurt him. Then on our last trip out of the hotel there were dog feces in the elevator. Fortunately we were able to avoid that - I hope other guests were able to as well. I did not tell the front desk about it, because it was the final straw and time for us to leave for good. I get that some people need comfort animals for their well-being. But this is a different situation at the St Regis Aspen and it is out of control. The hotel has other problems as well. Communication with the property in advance of the stay is poor. They sent us an email a few weeks before the stay asking for specific requests, and I asked for the possibility of an upgrade as a Platinum member. They wrote back and said that could only be done at check-in based on availabilty. I get that. So after I checked-in online, I emailed a second time but didn't receive an answer back, so I called the hotel directly. The lady answering the phone in the evenings is very difficult to understand, and I don't think she ever understood what I was asking for. When we arrived to the hotel and were still assigned the same room we reserved, I asked the guy at the front desk for an upgrade, he did it immediately and acted like it was a totally simple thing. Language is often a barrier with many employees, as they can be more difficult to understand than at other St. Regis hotels. The doors leading out to the balcony of our room were swung wide open when we arrived. When we tried to shut and lock the doors it didn't work. We called maintenance to have them fixed for security. Thank you St. Regis for a wonderful few days in Aspen. A wonderful retreat with breathtaking views, buzzing with a quiet energy and with all of Aspen's chic dining, shopping and exploring right at your fingertips. Our guest room was ready upon arrival, well-appointed and comfortable. We particularly appreciated the bathroom with a separate shower and bathtub. We enjoyed our daily breakfast and our pre/post drinks and dessert by the fireplace. The staff and service were consistently exceptional. When we asked for directions to the hotel restaurant or restroom, we were personally escorted. When we asked for area information, the concierge had personal experience and first-hand knowledge. When we asked about transportation to the Aspen airport, the shuttle was available and complimentary. Every aspect of our stay was handled with warmth and great care. It was our first time at the St. Regis in Aspen. But it will not be our last. We look forward to returning for a longer stay.

Do not recommend. We booked a room for 3 with a sleeper sofa for 2 nights. There were no sheets for the sofa bed, and the table in front of it that had to be moved to allow use of the sofa bed was literally so heavy it took 2 people to move and even that was difficult to do, no less. The room did not have an iron so we requested one but never received it. The pillows were hugely overstuffed and hard as a rock, impossible to use. Water flow was minimal in both shower and sink. The room was minimally acceptable at best for costing in excess of $2,000/night. On a positive note we did enjoy the outdoor breakfast area and the lobby is very nice. However, service makes or breaks a hotel and since the Regis considers themselves a 5-star hotel, work needs to be done in that area. We'll frequent the Hotel Jerome instead.
