Went to Lavender House for a Romantic Valentine’s Dinner and Stay. This is a little Gem nestled in the Devon Countryside with a homely charm, this family run hotel has cosy rooms, a traditional English Bar area and venue/restaurant. The food is second to none, cooked to perfection served by lovely staff, I’ve been to hotels three times the cost of this one and not received as good a service or dining experience. Don’t expect pretentious staff, expect a home from home, a warm welcome where you can be yourself and most importantly spend time knowing that you are not going to be ripped off. Ten out of Ten for value for money. Thank-you for a lovely evening, the Lavender Suite was just right - four poster, own large balcony, spotless and comfortable.

My mother hosted her 90th birthday party for about 50 family and friends here and it was a delightful event. The hot buffet was delicious and plentiful and the function room was beautifully decorated. The staff did everything to ensure that Mum and all her guests had a wonderful time. She had so many messages of appreciation afterwards. Many thanks to Andrew and all the team for making it such a special event.

Well all I can say is wow this place was amazing we’ve just had my daughters wedding sat 22 June nothing was too much trouble the place looked amazing the staff couldn’t do enough for us they really did make my daughters day special and my favourite bit is Keith the owner what a man a true gentleman who felt like was part of our family I actually fell in love with him and he will stay a friend for life an amazing character a true gentleman also have to give a shout to Ann behind the bar she is amazing in every way so thankyou from the bottom of our hearts and to you Keith we will be returning again and again you truly are a ledgend who went above and beyond to give us a special day we will never forget your kindness love to you all u done us proud and even more special u helped us with our lost love ones by including them in the whole thing very very special place and very special people that run the place we love you all Thanku from the bottom of our hearts the hodge family xxxx

Soooo restful and relaxing. Beds the most comfortable and the bedding.... Crisp white cotton .. The restaurant meals were first class,, Overall a great place to stay. Ashburton village is THE place for antiques.ll. The local Abbey is so restful..too is so

Just come back from a wedding weekend at Lavender House where we also stayed. You just can't fault it everything was superb location,hotel,staff food,hospitality and entertainment. I would recommend it without hesitation or any reservation. Thank you Keith your family and staff.

Went to my cousins wedding and all I can say is wow it was fantastic nothing was to much trouble food was lovely and plentiful had after noon tea and a barbecue in the evening they even had ice cream candy floss and popcorn for the children. The hotel is in a beautiful setting the owner is the perfect host and the staff are very hard working and friendly cant recommend this hotel enough for a perfect wedding

We selected this hotel mainly for its location...we were travelling between Surrey and Cornwall with a stop at Plymouth for a family lunch. The hotel is in a lovely country location so it's very quiet. It is mostly used a a wedding venue and we were the only guests on our mid week stay. So, it was quiet, no problem for us though. We spoke with the proprietor who was also our server for the visit, a nice friendly person. Room was perhaps a little small but OK for the night. Reasonable value for money too.

We only stayed for one night as it was a gift, but we will definitely return for longer. A beautiful country hotel with lovely grounds. A very friendly welcome and we were made to instantly feel at home. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable with great views of the garden. The bar area was very comfy with a crackling open fire and plenty of sofas. Our evening meal and breakfast were very tasty and beautifully served. My gluten intolerance was well catered for. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend this hotel on the edge of Dartmoor but close to A38. Owners and staff extremely friendly.

We stayed at lavender house on 9th September for a family wedding and I can't fault it one bit. We stayed in room 12 it was clean and the bed was so comfortable. The staff at lavender house deserve 10 stars just on there own nothing was to much trouble they were polite, helpful and friendly. The food was stunning the DJ was brilliant. I would recommend lavender house and it's staff to anyone book your weddings here people
