This is a beautiful boutique hotel with 15 century architecture and a cozy lounge and beautiful dining area. After walking 4 days on the Camino our spirits were lifted when we arrived at this hotel. The owner is a Spanish and Malaysian couple and the food was simply AWESOME, a MUST TRY is the Nasi Goreng with Chicken! They homemade chili using picante that tasted like those you get in Singapore & Malaysia. The beds were the most comfortable we have slept in for past 5 nights and the bathroom has a long bath for soaking your weary body. Lar Da Mota was definitely worth the taxi ride from Arzua/Ribadiso town. Don’t miss this and pamper yourselves…

We had a truly wonderful stay hosted by a lovely and experienced hotelier couple. The property is immaculately clean, bright, functional, and clearly very well maintained. Our room was spacious and in excellent condition, offering both comfort and style. The décor of the place is beautifully Asian-inspired, with tasteful touches that reflect the couple’s extensive travels. Every corner tells a story, with unique pieces and thoughtful details that give the space a warm, personal, and culturally rich atmosphere. A special highlight was the home-cooked meals prepared by the wife, who is an exceptional cook. The Asian dishes we tried were simply delicious, and it’s clear she has a real talent that likely extends to other cuisines as well. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail made our stay not just enjoyable but truly memorable. Highly recommended!

This is a spectacular place. The accommodations are top-notch, and the food is outstanding. Prema, the owner, ensures an absolutely delightful stay. It’s really a 6 Star place. It’s off the beaten path from Azura, and it’s a delightful ride to get here. The surroundings are some of the most beautiful countryside.

Wonderful food and a great, comfortable hotel. The woman owner was extremely pleasant and prepared an excellent meal for us. Beautiful area and beautiful hotel. We had salmon and a gorgeous lasagna as well as salad, which was much appreciated.

Beautiful hotel in the countryside of Arzua, removed from the city center (10 km). Free taxi from the Camino stop in Arzua. Very nice room, delicious dinner and breakfast. Very nice duty manager. Great selection of wine. But don't ask for Tinro de Verano (= a popular refreshment in the Spanish summer, made of red wine, sparkling water and lemon - the guy was offended from the idea.

Infinitely grateful for a marvellous experience at Lar da Mota! With my whole soul I soaked in the serenity, harmony and peacefulness of the place. My body was nourished with the home made food that was simply divine, all of it. And the host Prema was highly attentive, friendly, open-hearted, generous and radiating with vitality. What a gem on the Camino!

Excellent from the minute I arrived. I was welcomed to my room which had a beautiful sunset view. Dinner was delicious. The breakfast was a full spread with eggs, ham, juice fresh pastries and more. The room even had a brush for me to clean my boots and bag. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend staying here if you are on the Camino Frances Pilgrimage. They sent a taxi to pick me up and brought me back the next day.

My favorite stop on our Camino trip. We were greeted by our gracious host, Javiar, who provided a detailed tour of the hotel and offered a selection of wine to settle in after our walk. He was very knowledgeable about the local wines, the history of the region and the hotel history. He went out of his way to make sure our party of four had a quiet dinner before a large party was in attendance. Preema, Javiar's wife, cohost, and chef prepared delicious dinner and breakfast. She made the time to come out and talk to our party multiple times during our stay. We felt more like house guests than hotel guests. The rooms were beautiful and clean. I look forward to when I can return. Best Hotel/Cottage on the Camino!
