Rivertrees Country Inn was a lush oasis that we stayed at for two nights at the beginning of our safari, and then used the country house and rooms on our way back for a respite in the middle of our traveling back home. The locations and grounds are very beautiful and the colobus and black-faced velvet monkeys added to the enjoyment of the property. The food was very good and there were plenty of choices for all the meals. The gift shop was well-stocked with reasonable prices. The service was slow at times in the restaurant and bar, otherwise this would have been five stars.

My third visit to Rivertrees. I love this place for the traditional charm of Africa. Rooms are large, great showers, big beds. All staff are very friendly and helpful. The beautiful garden is well maintained with monkeys visiting. It is a great place to stay to start your safari.

I think Rivertrees achieved the goal of making you feel you are in touch with nature. The grounds are extensive and you can actually do a one Mile loop around the beautifully landscaped grounds and river banks. The food is great, and the service attentive and friendly. They let us eat ala carte when we were full and tired and did not want the full menu. We had pizza!!! It was wood fired and good. Instead of isolating tourists from the community, the resort welcomes local residents to the pool( paid access) and offer a movie night. Our room was massive with a shower and a bath.

My wife and I stayed at Rivertrees for two nights before our safari. This was our first adventure in Africa, and Rivertrees was the perfect place to get acclimated. The food and accommodations were great. We enjoyed exploring the grounds, taking a walk along the river, and watching the monkeys.

What a great place to stay. We arrived tired after a 13 hour flight from the UK. Welcomed with a cold drink and shown to our chalet room. Cool and with a great shower! Staff and food excellent. Meals and drinks good value and served in a lovely setting. Also stayed another night on return from our safaris 7 days later. Would recommend.

Rivertrees was the perfect spot to start our safari vacation! Our flight from the US arrived at 7am so we got to the hotel mid-morning. The jungle-like grounds are beautiful - tranquil and perfect after that long trip. We immediately found Colobus monkeys in the trees just outside of reception. Even though our rooms were not yet ready, there was plenty to do. We took a lovey walk along the river, relaxed and read by the nice pool and played darts at the cute bar. I know its weird but the wood-fired pizzas were delicious! Rooms were also very cute and comfortable.

Our group of 10 stayed one night at the Rivertrees at the beginning of our safari adventures around Africa, and it would have been nice to have another day to enjoy this wonderful hotel. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous with jungle like vegetation, there is a wonderful river walk that goes around the property, monkeys are everywhere, and the rooms were extremely nice. The staff was very friendly but the food was hit or miss - our lunch was very good, but there were issues with dinner for our party of 10 - very slow service, poorly cooked food, etc. but these were not terrible issues and would not stop us from returning. All in all, a great stay!

We stayed at Rivertrees prior to climbing Kilimanjaro, between the climb and our safari, and after Safari on return home. The property was excellent with a good restaurant and bar, and excellent staff. In particular, Miriam at the front desk was very helpful during all three of our short stays. Highly recommend Rivertrees.

We stayed at Rivertrees for a night before we headed out on safari and it was just perfect. It was the tranquil, peaceful, soft landing we wanted after a long journey. The staff, food, and property were 10/10 - from the beautiful and luxurious rooms to the fruitful grounds, it is an astounding experience. A highlight for us was the guided river walk - our guide Alan was SO sweet and knowledgeable and taught us so much about the land, plants, and vegetation. Cannot recommend this place enough!
