Edificio El Islote de Fermina

Great this is now open to the public.Wonderful views and staff are excellent.The prices of food and drinks are very reasonable for the quality offered.Chilled DJ sounds until 23.00 Friday & Saturday.We use it for a coffee snack stop during the day and a nightcap,Cafe con Leche €2.10 for a large cup with biscuit ! The pool are for a viewing feature out to sea and Mountain View’s which adds to the tranquility.The little museum was also worth a short visit.Last year they did Christmas gigs which were full on and very enjoyable.

Friday 19th July and we walked across a wooden footbridge from the waterfront in Arricife to the unusal El Islote de la Fermina. Located at the end of the footbridge is this  leisure and recreational area which was designed by César Manrique in 1970's. As with all Manrique installations this is certainly unique and out the ordinary. It comprises of a number of abstract shaped pools are filled with unheated light blue water which looks even brighter as the area is cover with white painted concrete. There are a number of palm trees dotted around the sprawling area along with large black lava rocks. Over the years the place fell into disrepair and unused. However, following a refurbishment and repairs the Fermina reopened to the public on 30th January 2023 At the time of our visit the pools were closed and cordoned off and swimming was not permitted. There were no sunbeds or umbrellas, it all looked a bit deserted. There is a Cafe here which was open, however we had no idea it was here till we walked here. The footbridge and the Islote are open daily from 10.00 am and closes at 17.00.

Acabo de irme sin ser atendida porque el camarero (mayor, alto de pelo canoso) estaba preguntando a la gente para tomar asiento y tomo asiento a la pareja que venía detrás y a mí me hizo el vacío. Mucho caché pero poquita educación. Una pena. No volveré

Bella e ben realizzata e ristrutturata nel 2023, questo angolo di costa, con un bar elegante e diverse piscine a sfioro, che do sera ben illuminate, danno un tocco paradisiaco all'intera zona. E anche presente un piccolo farò, per avvisare le navi della terra vicina. Tutto molto ben fatto.

Wunderbar, dass dieser schöne Ort wieder begehbar ist. Pflanzen und Mülleimer werden bestimmt noch nachgelifert. Sieht schon toll aus! Manrique Cesar soll ja die Vorlage gegeben haben. Einfach hinter dem Gran Hotel über die schöne lange Holzbrücke gehen und man ist in einer anderen Welt Am Ende der Insel befindet sich ein süßer Leuchtturm aus schwarzem Lava. Die Kontraste Weiß und Schwarz und das blaue Wasser sehen hinreißend aus.
