Mr & MRS Smith Kapsaliana Village Hotel

We had a wonderful time at Kapsaliana Village Hotel. The service and facilities were excellent. Our room was spacious and a private outdoor living area was a great addition to the room. The property was a historic olive oil mill but has been converted into a hotel and retains its heritage features and offers all the modern conveniences in a tranquil setting. We highly recommend staying at Kapsaliana.

The hotel is located up in the hills, far away from the hustle and bustle. If you like nature, the outdoors, trekking, or running, it’s a perfect choice. Lovely paths take you past small farms with sheep and goats — charming! The hotel is exceptional in every way. Hats off to the architect, who managed to preserve the essence and spirit of the old olive mill while making it beautifully modern. Truly a remarkable place. The restaurant is just fantastic — traditional Greek food with a modern twist. There wasn’t a single dish we didn’t like. The staff is exceptional: kind, friendly, helpful, and always looking after you. Special thanks to Stelios, who also hosted the wine tasting for us — it was very special! We will definitely come back another time!

Possibly one of the best hotel experiences you can have on Crete. Unique concept, beautiful area of the hotel and incredible views and nature in closest proximity. If you're looking for something a bit different on Crete, try this location. I enjoyed the food in Kapsaliana a lot. The staff have been a huge help with my travelling and sightseeing

me and my friend stayed a few nights in this hotel village and it was one of the best experience we had in Crete . With the typical architecture you really get to immerse in the cretian village atmosphere in the middle of a breathtaking landscape. the area being quiet and peaceful we were able to rest comfortably. The food was great and all the staff were so welcoming and ready to help you.

We travel extensively all over the world and have visited all seven continents! But there is one place we always return to and that is Kapsaliana! This is a jewel of a place where you can unwind in beautiful surroundings! The rooms are comfortable, spotlessly clean and their simplicity, blends with the history of the hotel and its location. The restaurant is open air where you can enjoy all your meal’s alfresco! Breakfast is a wonderful buffet of local organic foods, there is a lunchtime/pool side menu and superb Al La Carte evening menu. The wine list is extensive and there are some fabulous Greek wines for you to discover. The other reason we return time and again is the hotel staff, they truly are so friendly and keen to provide you with the best experience and service! The restaurant team are exceptional, going out of their way to brief you on the breakfast and various menus! The staff go out of their way to help families with young children as well as being friendly to all! The sommelier listens to the type of wines you enjoy and recommends accordingly and also talks about the vineyards and location. From the moment of checkin the staff are really friendly and the room service staff go out of their way to clean your room around your day (within reason). If you are looking for a chic laidback hotel experience with exceptional food and service we could not recommend this place more highly! Looking forward to returning later this year!

Our family of four stayed at Kapsaliana Village Hotel in July 2024, and we couldn’t have asked for a more magical holiday! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for. The beautifully restored village, with its charming stone houses and lush gardens, made us feel like we had stepped into a peaceful oasis. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, and perfect for a family. The kids loved exploring the grounds, while we enjoyed the tranquility and breathtaking views. The pool was a highlight—crystal-clear and surrounded by olive trees, offering a perfect place to relax after a day of exploring Crete. The Elaia Kapsaliana Restaurant was an unforgettable experience. Every dish was a masterpiece, blending traditional Cretan flavors with a modern touch. Even our picky eaters found favorites! The breakfast, with fresh local ingredients, was the perfect way to start each day. The hospitality at Kapsaliana is truly special. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, always greeting us with warm smiles. The little touches, like the welcome raki and spoon sweet, made our stay even more memorable. We also loved the small but thoughtful details—walking through the village at sunset, enjoying a drink at Lemonies Bar, and even receiving a bottle of their exceptional olive oil as a parting gift. If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic, and luxurious getaway in Crete, Kapsaliana Village Hotel is the place to be. We left with our hearts full and can’t wait to return!
