Samburu Sopa Lodge

The hotel is situated 325 km from Nairobi, in the middle of the park, next to the new Oryx airstrip. It is accessible from the main Isiolo-Moyale road at both the Ngare Mara and Archer's Post junctions. It is built overlooking the wildlife-rich banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River.The hotel comprises 60 en suite rooms, all with balconies with views of the hills, plains and river surrounding the lodge. Thirty cottages forming a buffalo horn pattern converge at the public facilities area, leaving room to roam among the wildlife and access to the waterhole. The architecture blends in with the area, to maintain style of housing of the local Samburu people. Local materials have been used in the construction, furnishings and interior decoration. High ceilings and a lot of space ensure that the rooms are airy and comfortable. Two rooms next to the reception and public areas are designed for those with limited mobility. A babysitting service is also available. The air-conditioned establishment features a lobby with 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, currency exchange facilities, a cloakroom, a games room, a TV lounge and kids' club.
