“The Nest” is a spacious, serene 2 bedroom apartment with additional Nook for 3rd sleeping area built above our stand alone storage garage. Upon entering the 1000 sq ft space you are greeted with an open floor plan boasting cathedral ceilings, modern wet bar/kitchenette, bright living room and dining area. Sliders open to private deck with wooded view. A full bath, 2 bedrooms and add’l sleeping nook off the main living area complete the space. Also on the property are a cottage and 1800s Colonial home. Close to beaches, URI, Ninigret Park (home of the Trolls and festivals, dog park, observatory) & more!The guest house is spacious and completely yours and separate from main house. The lower level garage stores owner items that do not need to be accessed during your stay. “The Nest” has a front door private entrance ~ a staircase leading you to a tranquil modern space for your “home away from home” experience. Kitchenette is well-equipped, beds are comfy and living room is very inviting!Two bedrooms: One with Queen sized bed and the other offers a Full sized bed. There is an additional sleeping area that is in the corner of the main living space in the "nook" where the ceiling slants. This offers a twin bed and a room divider. Good for an extra guest or child.Up to two well-behaved pets are allowed. Pet fee is $75 per pet per stay. First pet fee is charged via VRBO; additional pet fees are collected a week before your stay. Pets are not allowed on furniture or in beds. All pet waste must be collected and disposed of appropriately. Please do not leave pets for extended periods of time. Please message regarding pets in advance of booking. With summers stretching through Septemberand waters remaining warm above seventy degrees Sauga Point is a small New Englandparadise. The area allows for great sailing and all water sports with easy access to the townsand villages Newport, Wickford, Jamestown, Westerly and Narragansett. Ferries connect toMartha’s Vinyard and Block Island daily from Quonset Point just down the road, or from PointJudith and the port of Galilee.On the opposite shore of Our small peninsula is the neighborhood boat ramp that AccessesWickford harbor and Mill Cove. With some quick research you may pick up a guest mooring orslip at one of the many Wharfs or Marinas that are also the Mariners gateway to the historicvillage.Our house is located a few minutes walk from the ramp where you can come ashore from thewell protected mooring field. We have our own family history here as well. This is where welearned to sail, swim and experience all the greatness of this area. Our Dad, Joseph did thesame as a boy who then became a sailing Captain of the sea. Years ago he recognized the“perfect place to live” from his boat. He rowed to the ramp, walked up the street and thendiscovered a corner home with a little garage in the back. Dad always loved things that“needed a little work” so 122 Sauga became his new home ashore. The garage has alwaysbeen referred to as “Snorks Place”. Named so by the painted words over the door of thesoon-to-be workshop that always needed work of its own. Dad rebuilt the house and afterthat, replaced the work shack with a top floor apartment. The apartment is still named SnorksPlace or just Snorks as our family and friends refer to it.Dad built Snorks as a cozy and bright get away nest with the feel of a ships cabin with woodfloors and galley kitchenette. A Murphy Bed allows for the enlargement of floor space whenneeded as well as the Head (small bathroom). and lots of windows for great natural light. manyof these features always remind us of the boats we grew up sailing.Our Pop loved to share the amazing experiences of land and sea to all those who adventuredas well as educating and guiding those who would become Adventurers.Dad would say “Welcome aboard”!
