This studio has a living room with a new cozy sectional, a large television, a table for two, and a separate sleeping area. The small kitchen is a great place to prepare meals and the bathroom has an enclosed claw foot tub, a pedestal sink and ample storage. Guests have access to the back yard gathering space. We're here to ensure your comfortable during your stay and available to answer any questions you may have 24 hours a day. The Palmer House is nestled in Baker City's Historic district adjacent to downtown where you will find many large Victorian style homes built in the early 1900's during the gold rush. This lovely studio will take you back in time with the amenities we love and enjoy today! Park your car and stroll on the sidewalk lined streets to Downtown Baker City. You will find wine tasting, boutiques, Barley Browns Brew Pub, and the Sweet Wife Bakery with the most delectable pastries you can imagine, and more! Jump in your car and take a drive up into the Elkhorn or Eagle Cap mountains to take in breathtaking views in each of these mountain ranges that surround Baker City and make it an outdoor paradise. . This is a studio in an older home. We ask our guests to be respectful of others in regard to noise. To ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, please review and follow these house rules: General Rules • Quiet Hours: Please keep noise to a minimum, especially after 8 PM, as this home is in a quiet neighborhood. • Parking: Park in on the street in front of the home. • Shoes: Remove shoes indoors or ensure they are free of dirt to help keep the home clean. • Overnight Guests: Visiting guests not on the reservation require prior approval. • Smoking: Smoking is allowed outdoors only. Please collect and dispose of cigarette butts. • Hot Tub Use: Shower with soap before using the hot tub to maintain cleanliness. Pet Policy (for Travelers with Animals) • Pets must be pre-approved (limit 2 dogs, under 70 lbs, and at least 1 year old). • Pets are not to be left unattended in the home. Please have your pet on a leash in the backyard shared area. • Keep pets leashed around the neighborhood. • Pets are not allowed on furniture or beds. • Report any pet-related damage before checkout. • Please minimize barking out of respect for neighbors. Additional Policies • Damages: Guests will be charged for stained towels, linens, or damages beyond standard wear and tear. • Excess Cleaning: An additional cleaning fee may apply if the property requires extra attention after your stay. Whether you are visiting with a partner or a friend, on a work trip, or traveling solo, this cozy space has everything you’ll need to maximize your time in Baker City. Our Suburban Suite is a distinct upgrade from even the top tier hotel rooms available in the area.Enjoy a personal parking space in the driveway, private access, and ample natural light from the glass garage door without sacrificing any privacy. You’ll have two full beds, a full bathroom with a shower, and a kitchenette containing a refrigerator, oven, coffee maker, and other essentials. Take advantage of the adjustable rolling ladder to reach the upper storage shelves.The Suburban Suite has a main living area with a wood stove for chilly winter nights. There is a 32-inch Roku TV, comfy seating, and small bar table that can be used as additional counter or desk space. The bedroom also has a fold-down desk and adjustable stool for dedicated workspace. This space is walking distance from the Quail Ridge Golf Course and only a short, 3-minute drive from historic downtown Baker City.Guest access:You’ll have full access to the driveway space directly in front of the ADU, the right side yard, and the ADU space itself. The backyard is accessible only when there is no other guest staying in the main house, or upon private arrangement between guests. Such arrangements must be approved by myself as well, to assure all parties are content and comfortable.A few details to note when booking:HEATING:The suite relies heavily on two space heaters to maintain a comfortable temperature in the winter. There is also a wood stove available for use. The furnace to the main house unfortunately does not provide heat to this space.COOLING:This unit does not have AC and uses cooling fans and window management (opening windows at night to circulate cool air and closing them in the morning to trap it). The glass lift door can also be opened to allow breezes through as well. We are continually working to improve the temperature management of this suite, so you have temperature sensitivities, please plan accordingly and communicate openlyto make sure this booking will be a good fit for your stay!KITCHEN LADDER:To reach the stored dishes and servingware in the kitchen, you will need to be able to climb the sliding ladder. Please note that in order to use it safely, you will need to lift slightly and pull out towards you so that the base of the ladder rests further into the room creating a much more comfortable angle for climbing. It lifts up and can be placed in its upright position for storage.
