After reading the comments section, I learned that the front desk staff can communicate in Chinese and there is a pick-up and drop-off service from the JR station. It will be open in 2024. I made a reservation without hesitation. Before checking in, I learned The hotel contacted and learned that Mr. Hoshikawa and his wife are also Chinese. They have been studying in Japan for more than 10 years. It feels like meeting old friends in a foreign country. Because it is our first time to travel to Karuizawa, everything is strange to us. Hoshikawa The husband took the initiative to introduce us to us, and sent us to the car rental company to pick up the car the next morning, and reminded us of the precautions for driving in the snow. Since we stayed at the Karuizawa Prince Hotel the night before, our glasses and power bank were left behind. The hotel forgot to take it away, so I asked Mr. Hoshikawa to contact the Prince Hotel for help. Because the hotel is located halfway up the mountain, the hotel provides kitchen utensils for travelers to cook by themselves. Fortunately, we had enough time, so we bought all the hot pot at the 7-11 supermarket in Karuizawa. Ingredients, of course eating hot pot in the guest room restaurant is a rare experience! The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the stay and highly recommend the hotel. The food is very good.

I came here to explore Spirited Away and it was really amazing. Both the hot springs and Red Bridge are amazing and worth checking in!

I was surprised at how big the hotel was. The 360-degree panorama from the rooftop was the best. I would like to come back to this hotel again. The food was buffet style for breakfast and dinner, which was satisfying. However, there were a lot of people, so I would have liked to have a more leisurely meal.

We stayed here during a two-day ski trip. I found this inn very appealing, especially since I had never seen it on social media. There are only a few rooms, so it was quiet and very comfortable. We were worried about which one to choose, but we stayed at ”Kiri,” which has an open-air bath in the room, and it was better than we expected, so we took a bath five times (lol). We'll definitely come back here again! We've been saying that ever since we got back. However, we didn't get a plan that included dinner, so we were hoping to eat at a nearby restaurant, but all the restaurants closed early, so we were left without food, which was a bit of a downside^^; Next time we stay, we'll make sure to make a reservation for meals!! The inn itself was really nice and the best. Thank you for your hospitality.

Unfortunately, the vending machine on the floor where I stayed was out of service. There is no convenience store near the hotel, so it would be nice if the store had a wider variety of products. The room was clean and the illumination from the window was beautiful. The hot springs are also nice! I would like to use it again during ski season.

This is a hotel with a long history since the Edo period. It is 2 minutes away from the bus station and Yuten. The hotel's meticulous service is meticulous and thoughtful, with a smile on your face, and the special apple juice is very delicious. The dinner is Kaiseki cuisine, and you can experience it one dish at a time. The food is quite rich. Special praise for Liu San who can speak Chinese. The service is very good, which makes us communicate barrier-free and feel at ease. The hot spring is also very comfortable. I have never experienced such a service-oriented hotel. We had a wonderful stay! We especially liked the location - walking distance to small downtown Shima, yet far enough to have less tourists walking around. The hot springs were great, food was delicious (especially if you want to try authentic local Gunma prefecture cuisine - might not be best for children), and the nightly traditional paper story telling was also great. We took a train + bus ride from Tokyo and the local bus (40min ride) from Nakanojyo station stops right in front of the hotel. We will come back again for sure!
