Hotel Lodge AU Bois Vert Antananarivo International Airport

We have stayed here on previous visits to Madagascar and it is a good location for the airport and comfortable base for a night. The rooms are spacious with an upstairs bedroom area as well but rather dark. A little sitting out area in front of the room made a pleasant place to sit for more light . Food at lunch and dinner was good, and also the breakfast buffet with eggs cooked to order.

Very mixed feelings about the Bois Vert. We enjoyed the large grounds, though they appear to be building a lot more rooms in what was the most unspoilt area of the property. During the daytime there was almost constant machinery noise from somewhere on the plain overlooked by the hotel (not their fault, but still unexpected). Food was variable in quality. Although there were lots of cake types available, there was no normal decent bread at breakfast. The zebu we ate here was very tough, but some other dishes were perfectly acceptable. Unfortunately our room was semi detached and we could hear any noise made in the adjacent lavatory, including farts, which was not pleasant. Bathroom was a little basic; no shower curtain, so bathroom flooded after a shower. No hair dryer. WiFi worked reasonably well most of the time. After our visit I asked to put money in the staff tip box and was told it was in the back office and that I should leave the tip with reception staff, which I did. Having more time on our second visit, I insisted on seeing the tip box. The staff reluctantly produced a lockable cash tin that was labelled “reception cash” or something similar. It was certainly not a staff tip box, so if you’re feeling generous tip the staff directly. We nonetheless enjoyed our stays here.

Very beautiful property and lovely rooms. This is the place to stay for overnights in between flights. The pool is spectacular along with the beautiful grounds. The staff is so kind and wonderful. The girls at the front desk were fantastic!!!! The restaurant was cozy with average food, I had the Cesar salad twice, the first time great and the second time poor...I don't really care about the food, the rooms were charming, especially in the Cecile area, newer rooms were cozy. They are adding rooms so stay tuned for more rooms to choose from. One of the only 4 star hotels that doesn't take MASTER CARD

Very aptly named for this gem is located in a lovely woodland, encouraging birdlife, their constant singing was just amazing. Staff were so helpful, nothing too much trouble; food very good; ambience lovely, rooms were authentic, very comfortable and had everything you need to make your stay memorable. Added bonus, it's only ten minutes from the airport though there is hardly any aircraft noise. Loved my 7 nights here, before and after a tour.

I love this place. The only hotel I stay in when I am in Tana. The rooms are spacious, rustic and very clean. The quietness surrounding the rooms are great, tucked inside a huge pine forest, fragrant smell of the pine and other herbs like rosemary are present most of the time. Food is great, I mean really great. The smell of firewood from the kitchen pizza ovens is always a riminder of a good BBQ. Brings thoughts of good time with friend, family and colleagues enjoying good time together. Service is good and the staff is very friendly.

This hotel is so beautiful - we loved the setting, the pool area was nice and the food was great! It was brilliant to see local and vegan options alongside the more traditional French breakfast we got everywhere else. The price is quite high compared with what we paid elsewhere but this could be to do with location, and we liked that it was so close to the airport and we didn't have to face the traffic into Tana on arrival. The staff were super friendly and helpful too, plus there are plenty of facilities - a great start to our trip.
