Ibis Biarritz-Anglet Aéroport

Friendly welcome, comfortable bed and pillows and excellent shower. Room was ready at 11.30am when we arrived. Good choice at breakfast - we paid €12,80 each on the day, which was good value for the selection. The downside was the renovations, which we were not told about in advance. It did not disturb our sleep but there was noise from drilling etc and the flooring was not stable. Also the ceiling of the room was patterned black and white which did feel strange when lying in bed! There were also roadworks outside the hotel due to finish 18th April. This hotel is a distance from the centre and the beach. We walked in, which took 45 mins to La Grande Plage and 1 hour to Plage de la Chambre D'Amour. We got a bus back, Line 3 drops you just outside the hotel (Lavigne stop) and Line 11 (7 Puits stop) is about a 10 min walk to the hotel. From the airport, catch the Line 3 bus, google maps shows you can walk it (20 mins) but we did not see any pavement and it is a busy road. Uber is available in Biarritz but it is very expensive. We loved Biarritz, it is very like Newquay. Would recommend visiting the Plage Chambre D'Amour side, there are lots of beach bars/restaurants with a surfer vibe.

We chose this hotel for a 2-nights stay because it is conveniently placed near the highway, while also placed near Biarritz. The arrival to the hotel by car was easy, and there was plenty of parking available without extra fees. They do not have a restaurant, but the receptionist sent us to Novotel hotel, which belongs to the same company and is next door. At Novotel, we found a pretty fancy restaurant with good food and service, and with reasonable price for the food and service received (35€ per person). Overall, the room and the hotel services were fine, without good or bad surprises. We could hear noisy people at the corridor more than we would have liked, but it was bearable and the bed was good. We asked the receptionist for some information about visiting Biarritz. Unfortunately, he didn't seem to speak much English and he didn't give us almost any advice. Finally, we went to Biarritz on foot, which is a feasible walk, but takes around 45 minutes. We saw that there are also buses, although there seemed to be on strike. I think it would have been more effective to go by car and park it somewhere in the street closer to Biarritz, but we didn't know. Overall, a satisfactory experience for a reasonable price. Typical Ibis.

Arrivé par le vol du soir en provenance de Paris je fais le choix de me rendre pour une nuit à l'Ibis avant de rejoindre pour trois nuits le Sofitel. Localisation à 20 mns à pied de l'aéroport attention cependant que pour partie pas de trottoir au bord de la route qui mène à l'hôtel. Bel accueil dimanche soir par la personne à la réception souriante et efficace. La chambre classique des Ibis Rouge. Parking gratuit. Petit déjeuner buffet tout à fait classique avec tout de même un gâteau basque. De l'hôtel j'ai pu rejoindre le centre ville par la ligne T1.
