Zia Pupetta Suites

Zia Pupetta Suites is a small (four room) accomodation next to the Duomo in the village of Amalfi. We wanted to stay in Amalfi itself, for the convenience of bus and ferry schedules, for our three night visit. Finding the guest house was a little difficult. Facing the Duomo, there is a set of buildings to the right, with an arched stairway to the right of the first shop. You go up those stairs, turn right, up another couple steps, then go up another staircase, through a doorway, and up another set of stairs (it turns out there is a "Zia Pupetta" sign in the doorway of the first set of stairs but you wouldn't see it unless you were already on the stairs). A fantastic location once you knew how to get there. We booked the "Deluxe Family Suite" which has a double bed and sofa bed (the pictures on their website accurately reflect the rooms). The rooms must have been recently renovated (or maybe the space itself isn't that old), as everything was in very good shape. Technically speaking it can accomodate 4 adults, but you better all be good friends...it would be a very tight fit. Very good closet space, a larger-than-average mini-fridge, and coffeemaker were appreciated. The ceiling slanted severely from the middle of the room to the far wall, so much so that it was impossible for me (almost six foot tall) to stand up straight, unless I opened one of the two skylights (which provided great light). In the summer, I imagine the room would get quite warm. Breakfast is not included, and the guest house counter is not staffed 24 x7 but the team is readily available via WhatsApp. The bed was comfortable, great water pressure in the shower although the hot / cold was very sensitive and tended to wander from where it was set. Fortunately, too, the Duomo bells marking the time did not toll from 10pm - 7am. They requested the tourist tax payment in cash. Overall a very good stay.

Depite we asked for a late check-in because we were supposed to arrive at 19h00 (!!!) they said it was impossible so we arrange to arrive for 18h30. When there none opened the door and they sent me a essage at 18h30 sharp saying I didn't show off so my reservation was canceled, but had to pay the full price. Never seen a similar lack of professionalism, that made me think of an systematic way of doing.

The accommodation is conveniently located right off the main square adjoining the dome. Very well maintained and clean it offered access to most restaurants within central Amalfi. Extremely nice host and very easy check-in / check-out. Definitely a recommendation

Brilliant. Just of the central square, up a couple of stair cases, you are in the heart of Amalfi. You can hear the Duomo bells but they stop between circa 11 and don’t start until 7am. If they started earlier we didn’t hear them. The room comes with a coffee machine, toiletries and I can’t believe I am writing this for a hotel in mainland Italy, but amazing AC. Should you want it to, you could could freeze a gelato in there I swear. The bed was ridiculously comfortable - memory foam. Same with the pillows. Extra pillows in the wardrobe too. My only minor gripe was there wasn’t a full length mirror, however there’s a step in the room from which the bathroom mirror effectively became a full length. More I could say but in short, very good.!

Zona centralissima, posizione ottima a due passi dal duomo e dalla via principale. La struttura è come da foto pubblicate dal gestore. La camera è pulita, di recente ristrutturazione e con bagno spazioso. Personale gentile e disponibile.

Sconsigliatissimo! Nessuna professionalità da parte del proprietario che solo per aver chiesto gentilmente la possibilità di spostare il check-in di 30 minuti è andato su tutte le furie, alzando la voce e trattandoci davvero in malo modo! Per poi più tardi, a nemmeno un’ora prima del nostro arrivo, pur avendo assicurato di arrivare per l’orario da lui richiesto, cancellarci la prenotazione senza alcun preavviso nè motivazione, lasciandoci alle 17:00 di pomeriggio senza alcun alloggio per la notte! Un’esperienza davvero pessima che ci ha rovinato la vacanza. Assolutamente personale non affidabile e scortese è dir poco!
