Marpunta Resort, Santikos Collection

If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay with peace and tranquility then the Marpunta is definitely the place. We were met at the airport by Joe (Assistant Manager of the hotel) who gave us lots of information. Although the hotel was full, you would not know it as it was so quiet and did not feel over-crowded at all. The rooms were clean and we were pleased we upgraded to a sea view as it was just beautiful! Plenty of choice at breakfast and we ate once in the a la carte restaurant and once from the pool bar. Food was delicious! The Marpunta offer a mini-bus service to the town as it’s quite a tricky walk there. We used this a few times then caught the local bus to the old town which was lovely. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and it was an amazing place to stay! We would highly recommend a stay here. Watching the sunset from the seated area on the resort was a special highlight.

This was our second visit to Marpunta Resort after first visiting in 2022 and it was even better this time. Administration Staff - prior to our holiday I had a number of questions and a request for a paid upgrade. The staff were prompt, effective and efficient in their responses. It is the best customer experience I have had received in a long time 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟! General - What we loved about the resort is that although it was the beginning of their season and they did not have enough fully trained staff in place they did try their hardest to make each customer feel special ( in particular Joe and Dimitri). Reception - Offers a great welcome. The check in is quick, efficient and relaxed, which enables you to start your holiday on a good note. Room - It was so well appointed and the layout well thought out with electrical points and appliances being just the right place. It was cleaned daily to a high standard with fresh towels etc. There was a free room safe, tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge which was an added bonus. Dinning - All the food was local produce with a great variety of dishes. Bar - Adequately stocked and not much higher than the local village. Pool area - there were more than enough extremely comfortable sun beds and this meant that the pool area was not overcrowded at any point during our stay. Location - absolutely stunning views. Close enough to walk or have transport to the port for a change of scenery. Would we return again - ABSOLUTELY we are already looking to booked. Would I recommend to family and friends - certainly and have, as the hotel caters extremely well for adults across all ages.

My husband and I just departed after spending 2 weeks at Marpunta Resort. I will say that I was not led by any social media or any articles from the UK times. We have been to Marpunta already 4 times, and each time, it's more and more amazing with its beautiful beaches and friendly staff. We celebrated our 36th anniversary in April so we decided to enjoy ourselves. The reviews below are harsh and unfair to these hard-working kids and staff members and management, and obviously, these heartless individuals are spoiled and soar individuals who strive to make other people lives miserable. The only thing subject I will agree on is the restaurant manager yelling at his already uninspired staff and reprimanding them in front of guests and other employees. This person has no business working in such a beautiful establishment like Marpunta Resort. But these kids work hard at the service, and yes, they need training, but some of these reviewers must have never asked what happened. We did and understood them and had sympathy. Some heartless reviewers without know just passed judgment. Get over it and move on if these kids don't remember your anniversary. It sounds like these people had no plans and relied on these staff to celebrate in a crowded room their accomplishment of marriage. Many people don't care about your birthdays and anniversaries, if that's why you came here. You came here for the wrong reason. The food and the environment were plenty for my husband and me and other friends we made while being there. But it is clear that the true individuals holding this resort strong are the housekeeping department with their clean and spotless rooms and your front of the house at reception. Dimitris and Joe NOT the deputy manager but the delightful Resort Assistant Manager. Both have a smile that lights up any room and any situation. Dimitris was a bellman who helped us and is now the front desk manager. Great selection, Marpunta. He makes everybody feel welcome and warm staying at Marpunta. He is always ready to assist guests with such charm. Joe is the true leader of this resort, and we saw tjis last year. He is passionate, cares about people, stays, and runs his rooms, which are strong and high discipline. His leadership and attentiveness show in him throughout the resort. This Yank from American who has 3 decades in the industry of hotels, brings a different type of hospitality to Greece that others are now following. He even picked up tables and located them somewhere else at dinner to accommodate some whining or ungrateful guests staying there. We saw him pick up dishes and clear tables, the service staff enjoyed him at dinner, and the staff followed his lead. Such a great lad with true meaning of a leader and manager behind his name and reputation. We just enjoyed 2 weeks with friends just finished at Marpunta Village. Each time we have been here it gets better and better with the beautiful landscape, relaxing pool with those incredible beaches. This place is so very special, the resort is absolutely situated in green surroundings with stunning views all around. We decided to come back and bring family friends. We too have travelled with Jet2 on a couple occasions to Skiathos and Alonissos, and our views of the resort are pure opposite from others who like to moan and complain on every little thing. The teal and orange coloured rooms we each received were very comfortable, welcoming, cosy, well renovated and maintained, clean and quiet. We enjoyed the sea views in the mornings from our balconies with our friends. The meals are excellent and in no way repetitive as some suggest! The 4 of us loved each selection of each day's buffet at breakfast and dinner. Fruits, fresh baked goods, omelettes made any way you want. The service staff in the restaurants and pool bar always had a smile and we certainly felt welcomed and nothing else. The difference is we got to know the staff not mentioned by titles. That's when you know you had a wonderful stay with the people who treated us as they really appreciated our business and stay. You are welcomed as family members not just guests, that comes from Joseph Rodriquez the assistant director of the resort. Stellios the restaurant manager made our anniversary dinner special and our server Sofia and Cassandra at Achinos sea side restaurant. Delightful staff celebrated our special day with tremendous service and delicious meal. Kostatsina and Georgia pool bartenders were such a joy to talk to. Really friendly and made my husband some great cocktails. Also with the always kind and attentive Abraham pool attendant, who helped us with our umbrella at the pool. This is how you enjoy a holiday, get to know the staff by name not by titles, who do work to please every guest that allows them to serve. These mentionings of Marpunta staff wouldn't be complete without sharing the professional and tremendously hospitable assistant director of the resort and the reception girls at the desk. Trust me, if you need information about the resort or you need to plan your trip around Alonissos, the reception girls and Mr. Rodriquez are more than ready to service your every need. With more than enough activities and recommendations of places to go and do around the Island. Mr. Rodriquez and the girls arrange our arrival and departure transfers with Albedo Travel who do represent Jet2, so there is someone in Jet2 here on the Island and her name is Christina Georgio with Albedo Travel. She and Mr. Rodriquez has great communication with each other. Through her, he gave us all of the departure instructions and luggage handling. The decision to book a 2-weks holiday in Alonissos Marpunto hotel this summer turned out to be one of the best choices we could make. Situated on a wonderful hill top overlooking the prestine shores surrounding the island, this hotel offers manifold possibilities to take a restful or an active holiday, just as one pleases. In particular, we would like to emphasise how well we were looked after by the manager, Joe, an his great team that always offered a helping hand. Being a person faced with certain handicaps, I received special help provided in all kind of ways.e-g- by serving my meals to my room whenever I was not in the position to go to the restaurant, or by arranging a comfortable and secure return home, or just by making sure that his guests were treated with care and kindness. Where to begin - Felt like the resort had already shut for season. Many of the staff miserable. Lounge bar was closed until two nights before we left (stayed 2 weeks). After dinner- you had no where to go but back to your rooms. It Felt like boot camp. For the jet 2 star advised it was no where near. Food was repetitive, and very disappointing. For such a beautiful spot, so much could have been done to make this stay memorable. Yoga? What yoga? We were given so little information on check in. Staff lacked motivation, and didn’t want to be there. To add insult to injury, I gave the keys back this morning saying we had already settled up. The manager rushed over saying 8 euros, 8 euros! I calmly confirmed again we had settled. He said to the receptionist 8 euros and you never know!! 3,500 pounds were paid for this exclusive resort and were made to feel like we were dishonest. Also we were unable to get water supplies until we got our car but were told we could only buy from restaurant when open. For anyone else- stay in the town where you will get a much better service. Jet 2 - you need your guys in there assessing the resort or you will have a lot more complaints. Anyone thinking of booking - honestly, just don’t . It will be interesting if this review gets any acknowledgment- only the ok ones seem to .
