Tate House

Finding Tate House was easy and, as suggested, we accessed the Plough car park via the lane as opposed to the archway and got parked easily. The first thing to say about Tate House is that it is very clean and smart with good quality decor and furnishings. Our room (no 3) is at the top of the house with a large and very smart bedroom; a separate small snug with a couple of chairs, fridge etc., and a balcony. It also has a separate bathroom, which involved some careful negotiation of stairs for my frequent nightly visits, but I managed fine. We found the accommodation to be smart, comfortable and ideally situated - a five minute stroll to the centre of town. We would certainly be happy to use it again.

I stayed at Leo's B&B for one night on a business trip. I had booked the smallest room in the house which was very cute and plenty big enough for one person. I saw one of the larger rooms and can say that they are very spacious and perfect for couple and families. The decor of the entire place is impeccable - even the health and safety signage in the bedrooms is printed and framed nicely. I arrived late and Leo met me and recommended a great place for dinner, sending me a text to remind me of the door code to get back in, just in case I forgot. Leo is super friendly, helpful and cooks an awesome breakfast. The room and bathroom were clean enough to eat off the floor - the cream/white carpets in my room look as though they must be steam cleaned every day. I will definitely be back to Alnwick one day and would not hesitate to stay here again. It's about a 60 second walk to the castle and gardens too!

One of the best "single" rooms I have stayed in. Cosy, warm, inviting and comfortable. Lovely quiet room at the back (room 1) comfortable bed and nice linen. Very good tea tray, and everything you think that you might need was provided for. Location perfect Check in easy Good communication All in all excellent!

Centrally located in Alnwick with free parking at a nearby pub Tate House makes a very good first impression. It's modern and smart and it's cleaned to a sparkle. There's everything that you could need for your stay within your room and some chocolates to go with your cuppa too. Faultless and excellent value, I can highly recommend Tate House to you.

Brilliant location, near the castle and gardens, both in walking distance The accommodation is beautiful, my room catered for my every need. It was comfortable, spacious and light and airy There is a large kitchen downstairs with milk for you to help yourself to for tea and coffee and ice is also available The bathroom is also large, shower was brilliant , large and hot! Would highly recommend this accommodation Barter books just up the road, my idea of heaven, the Plough across the road where you can park for free and they serve lovely meals . Then just through the ‘gate’ to the town a whole array of shops and eateries Absolutely brilliant, loved it!
