The hotel itself is amazing but:
- Shower door did not close properly and therefore we got "floods" everyday in the toilet.
- Mosquitos: I do understand that we are in a "wild" enviroment but it was amazing every time we open the curtain of the terrace how were falling many mosquitos. During the night, going to the toilet was an expirience as well. Too many mosquitos...they should try to do something with this.
- Meals: they do not include beverage, its normal until you are charged 3'5€ for an opened bottle of water when they should serve or at least give the option to have it for free since the law says that.
- Checkin: the girl of the counter just told us, "hey scan this QR code and everything is explained", why shall I download an app of the hotel? is it so hard to explain just in few second all the activities of the hotel?
- Breakfast: Bakery quality worse than any other hotel I tried...
Speaking about amenities hotel is perfect, big pools, nice decoration, buffet was ok and it has direct access to the beach. Its a pity that the service is not at Barcelo level standards.

We came here for a work conference at the exposition center across the street. This hotel was lovely, with multiple salt water pools, nice gardens, friendly staff, easy access to the beach. We enjoyed the extensive buffet menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on multiple occasions. The hotel is a bit far from Almeria's city center (~20-25 minute taxi ride from the bus station), but there is public transportation to the city. We would happily come back here again.

This Hotel has had a recent renovation & from a distance it looks great. The staff are all lovely & the multiple pool areas are all excellent. However behind the grand exterior is where the cracks start to show. The wooden balustrade on our balcony was rotten & the struts not secure, all the electrical fittings in our beautifully decorated bedroom were ancient & some not secured to the wall properly. The shower control unit was loose in the shower cubicle. We had multiple issues with key cards not working. The buffet food was on the main dreadful, overcooked & tasteless. The food served from the bar was totally different almost as if completely different chef & kitchen involved. There is very little to do in the area unless you Golf. The bus to Almeria is just over €1 so that was a bonus. If you want to sit next to a pool for a week & eat bland food then this is the place for you.

We spent a wonderful 7 days in this amazing hotel. From the moment we entered the Barcelo Cabo de Gata and first met the receptionist, we always felt the great attention to us as guests, the friendliness of the staff and the high level of professionalism that they demonstrated every day. Whether it was the receptionist, the restaurant staff, the room service - everyone at the hotel was just great. As a family of four, we stayed in two spacious double rooms that were perfectly cleaned every day. The comfort of the beds is wonderful and they have all the necessary amenities. The concept of three swimming pools for children and adults is a great idea, which gives a great chance to always find a free sun lounger by the pool at any time when you go there. If you like to walk or jog, you will hardly find a better place in the area for this purpose than the beautiful palm park with special paths and right next to the sea, which is right there. We had the all inclusive package and when we say all inclusive we mean literally everything inclusive unlike other places that don't offer drinks or give you poor quality water based cocktails. The service in the restaurant was a great experience - excellent quality of food - fresh, tasty dishes and always a great variety of dishes. Overall there is not a single reason I could mention in my review. Everything was just superb.

If you want to experience an over-expensive, dirty hotel where the staff becomes aggresive with the clients, this is the right choice. Terrible and humillianting experience with staff at the front desk requesting the number of my room (after paying 400€ for two nights) to lend me a 0.5€ scissors. After I complained, one of the person at the front desk named Rafael came to me in an intimidatory way. He was a strong, tall guy and he stared at me for a few seconds in a way that I can only describe as aggresive. Something that for certain I had never experienced in any other hotel of the world. When I made a complaint with the Front Desk Manager, he dismissed the situation saying "it was my perception". And now, after sending a complaint to Barcelo Hotels, I have just received a response saying that the behaviour of the this person "was according to the protocols". What protocols, I wonder? In which sort of place front-desk people behave like *****? Simply beyond belief. Of course, I will never come back to this hotel or any other of the Barcelo chain.

Went to Barcelo Cabo de Gata for the weekend and wasn’t disappointed. Had stayed here before a number of years ago and wasn’t disappointed on my return. Excellent location and efficient staff who will look after you.

Enjoyable stay. A quiet, peaceful place with not much around unless you went for a golf trip stay. Almerai is a 40-45 minute bus ride away - 1 euro 04 cents single fare. (31 quikest- 30 around the surrounding villages and airport). Very clean hotel with comfortable beds. Book a superior room if you want tea making facilities and more space.Extensive promenade through the hotel gate to walk along by the sea front. Pool was cold but it was October.Food average and mainly kept at low temperatures.Pool towels free and safe in room free. We would return if we wanted a chill, quiet, peaceful holiday to recharge our batteries. No activities and part of the hotel was closed down as October is out of season.

Only a kids pool was open, staff disinterested, chaotic and dirty breakfast and a suite that overlooks all the hotels bins and staff congregation/smoking area. 15km from Almería with limited surrounding facilities.

I was staying at the Barcelo as part of the ITAA confrence. The conference was for 5 days. Along with specific activities relating to theconference we did get some down time to enjoy the facilities.

Being in the catering trade for the last 42 years, And having stayed in a lot of hotels in many parts of the world within many different groups, I know I can be a quite demanding customer, especially when it comes to my expectations. Even now I cannot get over the expression on my partner's face when we first saw our room, the delight on her face filled my heart with joy, since the only thing that matters to me is her happiness. The service that we received has been second to none and believe me it is not often that I am able to say that. Any queries that we had during our stay were answered and dealt with and always with a smile which means a lot these days. It would be wrong for me to try and single out any one member of the staff as all have been exceptional. The variety of the food that has been served means that every meal experience has been a delight with plenty of choice. I thought that the Barcelo Cairo would be the exception, but our experience here has proved that that is not the case And that it was just the norm that we could expect from your group. I know I have said it earlier but I really cannot praise the staff enough They are all a credit to your company. This experience has cemented our loyalty to your group for further vacations. With a little more attention to detail and an overhaul of the quality of food, this hotel could be really good, it felt as though because it is coming to the end of the season that they don't need to bother with the upkeep of the public areas and that they don't need to keep all the pools or snack bar open, or have decent entertainment every night, but that's not fair when it is advertised as being available.
