The Level at Melia Alicante

The hotel is lovely. The only complaints we have is that we were not told about the free bar between 6-7 pm in the level lounge. We found out the night before leaving by another customer. When we checked out the morning after, we mentioned our concern and was told “sorry the lady who checked us in was probably busy”. It was supposed to be “Level service” and we expected the same service as everyone else who checked in as we paid a premium like others did. In addition, there is a notice saying “no” reserving beds and towels will be removed after 30 mins. This is not acted on even though we mentioned only towels on beds and no bodies so we never got to use the pool.

If anyone is looking for a short break in Alicante then get booking now, it is definitely a place that is overlooked with people just flying in and then moving on to their next destination. We stayed at the Melia Alicante for 3 nights which is perfect location for exploring. We chose a Level Room with direct pool access which included drinks and snacks throughout the day in the Lounge, access to the adults only pool and a separate reception for check in/out which made for a stress free holiday. Breakfast had a great selection of food and this was also served in the Lounge. This also came with stunning views of the sea. We could have sat there for hours just taking in the views, in a peaceful environment. The staff were so friendly & helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was spotlessly clean, just the perfect stay.

Fabulous experience for our group of running friends. This is the third year we have stayed here when participating in the Alicante 10k race. The staff are always pleasant, friendly and attentive. Great breakfasts and lots of snacks and drinks during the day. Thanks you Roao and Cynthia.

We have just returned from a three day stay at The Level Melia Alicante and I am afraid my review has some negatives. But firstly to the good reviews - beautiful lounge with all day drinks, coffee and treats, extremely comfortable bed and excellent housekeeping and staff. Our marina view room on the 5th floor was super for afternoon sun on the balcony but at the end of a very long dark corridor, in fact the ‘Level’ area of the hotel is quite some distance from the hotel entrance. Unfortunately I could not recommend ‘The Level ‘ to anyone with any degree of mobility issues mainly due to the distance and also as the bath with shower over it is very high and there are no safety bars to enable getting in and out. There may however be disabled rooms more suitable so please ask before booking. As I have said previously, the Level lounge is beautiful in both decor and comfort with a gorgeous view of the beautiful Postiquet beach but be warned, when you book, make sure you book breakfast as it is very unclear whether it is included in the upgrade and you will be charged separately at €24 per person per day - the cold buffet is very good with cheeses, salamis, cold meats, fruit and a nice bread selection but the cooked breakfast is rather dismal and disappointing. We would probably stay in the Melia when next in Alicante for its location to the beach and Alicante old town but would not upgrade to The Level sadly.

Melia Alicante offers two room view options, Sea view and Marina View. We booked a Premium Sea View, which was excellent. Let me say at the outset that we are Melia Reward Members, and book directly with Melia. It's important to become a member and then obtain all the benefits that are available based on your membership grade. It is also important to have access to the LEVEL which provides a seperate breakfast area and a relaxing atmosphere during the day and evening. Flight booked seperately. The Reception check in was smooth and efficient, our rooma Premium Sea View was on the 4th floor overlooking the sea and beach and very comfortable. As usual at all Melia Hotels, the housekeeping was first class, thank you to all the staff who somehow always get the room looking as new every day. This was our first visit to Melia Alicante, and we were immediately feeling very comfortable. The Guest Experience Manager Francesco and his team gave us outstanding service . In particular Daniel (Obsessed with his hair) Andrea (Bubbly and very enthusiastic) and of course Inma ( Always so very attentive to your needs) in fact they all carried Francesco's mantra of Attention To Detail. Also in his team are all the LEVEL Staff Alexandra on reception was lovely, as were all the LEVEL Reception Staff and at breafast we were always looked after in the main by Gloria, Roccia and David ( who always made my morning coffee for me when on duty) So absolutely top marks for everyone in the LEVEL. We were at the Hotel for thirteen nights, and did not expect to be receiving a la carte dinner service with an excellent menu choice, this was a real bonus and Sara who looked after us was excellent, in the TRASLUZ Restaurant. Now you don't often at any Hotel meet with the Hotel Director, but on this occasion it was a Lady called Paloma who we were introduced to and she was charming and keen to be a visible presence, which was refreshing. As we were there for Christmas, there was a Gala Dinner on Christmas Eve, which I can only describe as Outstanding in every way. Inma was on meet and greet and did us proud by providing us a table by the window with some friends we had met at Melia Costa Del Sol. The Table presentation, the food the wine, and the service was incredible. So much hard work to achieve this and I did notice the Hotel Director went round to every single table to say hello. There were 210 people at the dinner. Finally, at the beginning of our stay Francesco was instrumental in introducing all lhis team to us,and he clearly loves what he does and is good at doing it, and it's quite clear that they are a great team and this is replicated throughout the Hotel. We did not know what to expect, but Melia Alicante exceeded our expectations. We will return. Many thanks and best wishes for 2025 Joan and Alan Otto

We stayed in a Seaview room, which was great for sitting on the balcony, with coffee, and enjoying the sunrise. The room was a good size, very clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable, and the bath and shower were great. The level lounge was beautifully decorated for Christmas. There is a fabulous view of the beach. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. The drinks and tapas were very good and plentiful. The hotel is in a great location for going into town and exploring the area. We will definitely be back.
