First of all, the pictures do not do this hotel justice. When we walked in to the lobby we were blown away because we weren’t expecting anything quite so grand. The receptionist was very friendly and welcoming and our room was pleasant enough. Plenty of storage and around 10 hangers which suited us fine. The food choices at breakfast, lunch and dinner were all good, we always had something that we enjoyed to eat. The churros at breakfast become a first favourite and I’ll miss them! Dinner always seems so busy, despite changing the times we went throughout our stay, it was always very busy but we always managed to find a table. The bar snacks were a welcome treat, all self service hot dogs, burgers and chips etc. we found this really good for days that we had an early lunch but had a long wait until dinner. The evening entertainment was a bit lacking, we stayed for 5 nights and there was bingo every single night but on our last night there was live music which was such a welcome change from the bingo. The entertainment guys who ran the bingo were really good at their job and always chatted with you if they saw you during the day, you can tell they both really love their jobs which is lovely! The only thing that let our stay down was the bar staff, well one member of the bar staff in particular. The whole team were so friendly and approachable and always smiling (Ismail in particular was lovely) however one member of staff (older male, longish blondey brown hair, I think his name was Rickard?) would regularly talk badly about the customers in Spanish assuming that no one understood him. While I was waiting at the bar, he loudly said to another member of staff in spanish about the woman he was serving at the time that she was “a pain in the **** and he didn’t want to get her anything because she was so annoying” he then followed it up with “and I can say all of this because she doesn’t understand a word” in a gloating tone while smiling directly at her which I found so uncomfortable because although the woman he was serving didn’t speak Spanish, there were a few of us waiting that did and he assumed that we didn’t. When he was upstairs in the restaurant area he also would loudly complain about guests in Spanish assuming no one understood him. In the end I asked my husband to order all of the drinks at the bar because I didn’t enjoy interacting with him or listening to him discussing the guests in such an awful way. This is the only let down to our stay, everything else was perfect.
