Mediterranean Resorts

Our One Bedroom Apartment was booked through a tour with Reef & Beyond via Trip-A-Deal, for just under a week. It seemed like that the Resort, (although, wouldn’t call it a Resort,) supplied what was booked and paid for by Reef & Beyond - a one bedroom apartment - by separating a larger apartment down the middle. It was odd that there were 3 locked internal doors off the hallway. The bed in the bedroom was a small double, only, and rather uncomfortable, certainly not of Resort style! The whole apartment was very dated, and the small rise between the bedroom and the ensuite and the hallway and the laundry was a trip hazard! The view from the balcony, which is not very large, was the excellent thing about the apartment, and apparently people would die to have this room. This couple felt they were going to die or, at least, about to have a heart attack! There aren’t any lifts at this place, so, as our apartment was one of the higher ones, heavy luggage had to be dragged up the very steep driveway from the street, where the airport shuttle had to drop off their passengers. From the driveway, a set of 2 to 3 flights of narrow steps had to be conquered, again, with heavy luggage, before we got to the entry door to the apartment. Although, we didn’t use the pools during our stay, we did note that one was closed for maintenance. The free Wi-Fi was not up to standard which meant our mobile phones had to be used for a decent service. Although, the problem with the Wi-Fi was being attended to, it never really improved during our stay! If you have any type of mobility problems, find other accommodation. The resort is built on a hill up very, very steep hills, above the main road of Airlie Beach. These hills would take the breath away of even the very fittest of people! Also, being so high, the noise from down the hill, in Airlie, travels up to the rooms on still nights! The caretaker Caz was very friendly and very helpful. She often gave us good advice about some of the best places eat, things to see and ways of getting transportation up the hill, when you don’t have your own vehicle! Wouldn't look to staying here again, as there's other nice places, in which to stay, in Airlie Beach!
