The Bay Agonda

Stayed at The Bay Agonda for about a week at the end of October. The location of the resort is spectacular, and you get the beach as well as the backwaters right there. You merely have to walk the length of the beach to find dolphin tour operators, kayaking and bird watching guides, etc. We opted for a sea view villa, which turned out to be a good decision since the villas are right on the beach. You can spend the entire day on the verandah simply watching the sea and the sky change moods and colours . The villa was clean, aesthetic, with a raw natural feel to the interiors, which made it feel like nature extended into the room. I loved the open air bathroom--rustic and tastefully done. The room itself had enough space for an extra bed (the extra "bed" though was a mattress and not actually a bed). The food at the Farfalla Deck was quite good, especially the local fare. However, we preferred to walk -- its a very short walk, or you can sit in a tiny boat that the staff tugs across the creek -- to river-facing side of the resort virtually everyday for the restaurant Treetop Tava, which not only served delicious food but had a gorgeous birds eye view of the area. The ayurvedic spa is also located on this side of the resort. I must thank the masseuse Poonam (if I remember correctly) who really worked on my shoulder to relieve a terrible shoulder spasm. The staff was responsive and hospitable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bay Agonda and recommend it to anyone who likes nature and tranquility, bundled with comfort and hospitality.

We recently returned from our 10 night stay at the Bay Agonda. This hotel is located at the northern end of the beach and as such sees a lot less foot traffic than other establishments further ***** it's huge beach. We saw that as a particular plus as it meant not only could we enjoy the daily beach walks to try other places it also meant sometimes it felt we had the beach to ourselves. The rooms here are more than adequate with a huge bed and air-conditioning that does the job. Please note there are no fridges. We had a Seaview room (villa 2), the views from our terrace were amazing. The ladies who clean the rooms are lovely and are unobtrusive. We ordered from the menu regularly and enjoyed the great food on our terrace. The guys who look after you on all things food and drink are brilliant. Johnny and Sandy are great guys, we enjoyed many great chats with Johnny and wait to see his wedding photos. We would definitely return and are already considering it. Give it a try.

We had a wonderful stay at the Bay Agonda , it was an awesome experience and the food was amazing. The beach was so peaceful and serene, the walks, the sunset , the boat ride to see the dolphins, the birding in the backwaters , everything was just perfect. The staff was polite and helpful

Our stay at The Bay Agonda Sea View was nothing short of magical. Located at the northern end of Agonda Beach, this resort provided the perfect getaway for relaxation and tranquility. The cottages were comfortable and cozy, with beds that ensured a restful night’s sleep. Waking up to the sound of waves and stepping out onto a veranda that overlooked the stunning beach was an incredible way to start each day. One of the most unique and memorable aspects was the open-roof shower. Taking a warm shower while the monsoon rains poured down was such an extraordinary experience – nature and comfort blended in the most beautiful way. The service here was exceptional. The staff were always kind and attentive, and no request ever felt like too much. The rooms were spotless and maintained with great care, giving us a sense of welcome and warmth throughout our stay.

Staying at The Bay Agonda was one of my favourite experiences the cottages are really gorgeous and beautifully constructed, and I especially appreciate the concept of open roof showers. The cuisine was fantastic, and it made me drool just looking at the presentation. Finally, when it comes to the locations, you may almost believe yourself in paradise.
