Our 5-night stay at Iliada Villas was so relaxing. It was exactly what we needed after the bustle of touring mainland Greece. For one, we parents finally got a bedroom/bathroom/balcony to ourselves upstairs while the kids had their own space downstairs. In the mornings, we filled our breakfast plates and ate on our patio overlooking the pool. The buffet usually included some kind of eggs, meat, cereal, yogurt with different toppings, fruit and sweets, plus coffee, juice and milk. Agios Prokopios beach/restaurants is a 10-15 minute walk, either through the red lakes (see Google Maps) or along the road. Walking along the road got a little dicey with cars speeding past and no sidewalks, and at night, the lake route is not lit. I'm glad we opted to stay away from town, but it may not be for everyone. The bus stop (outside Lago Mares hotel) was about 10 minutes walk along the road. Patricia was an excellent hostess and super friendly -- she reminded me of Sophia Vergara! The villa was spotless, the A/C worked great, beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything we'd need IF we chose to use it. The room came with plenty of towels, including wraps for the beach/pool. And having a clothes washer was a big benefit. Iliada Villas is an excellent choice for families looking to relax in an ideal setting.
