Domes of Elounda, Autograph Collection

The resort and the staff are exceptional. My only regret is not staying for another day (or two). I cant wait to come back!

This was our second visit to a Domes resort having stayed at Domes, Milos before and Domes Elounda did not disappoint. We had a truly amazing stay, thank you so much Domes! We’d booked two suites for myself & my wife and a separate one for our son but, on arrival, we got upgraded to a 3 bedroom private residence with its own pool. Also access to Haute Living. Oh my, it was soooo special. What makes this place special is the staff, they are amazing from those driving the club cars through to the housekeeping staff. So nice and a special shout out to Lilly in Haute Living You were lovely and made our stay so special. We tried a number of the restaurants as well as the buffet one, really enjoyed the atmosphere in Makris and the steaks in Blend are fab. Chicken Gyros in the one by the beach to be recommended. Activities are fun too, we did the wine tasting, cocktail making and olive oil factory visit. We had such an amazing holiday and will definitely return. Thank you Lilly and Domes Elounda!

Our favorite things about the Domes: - The setting is lovely. Beautiful views of the turquoise bay and Spinalonga island. - The room was fantastic. Very spacious and tons of storage space. Large patio space with a couch and loungers and an umbrella. Plenty of shade during the day. The bed was very comfortable. Plenty of towels and pillows. - The beach area stretches out along the bay. However, it’s not the type of beach you can take a beach walk on. There are many trees and umbrellas to provide excellent shade. Sitting and watching the boats go by was delightful. The beach itself is a combo of sand/dirt. The water has a sandy bottom but with some rocks. Water shoes were helpful. There are plenty of loungers at the beach - Good playlists at the beach and main restaurant! - Nice free tour of olive oil farm - We enjoyed a dinner at Core on one of the nights they offered a street food/food truck experience. There are a bunch of good vegetarian options. The service was extremely friendly Things to know: -There are lots of families - You need to make dinner reservations ahead of time - You’re probably aware that the resort is built into the steep hillside. You get around via staff-driven golf carts. If your room is not low on the hill, you’ll be at the mercy of the golf carts to move around the property. Usually it’s not an issue but once we waited over 10 minutes for a ride. We stayed in room 119 which was low down and therefore easily walkable to reception and the main building, but still high up enough to have a good view. The tradeoff is that the suites higher up the hill have even more dramatic views. - The individual suite pools are not heated. This is fine because they are small and warmed by the sun. - The resort pools are not heated in July and August. We were here the last week in August. With 20 to 30+ mph winds and air temps in the high 70s to mid 80s, the pools felt cold. - In general, things closed down early. The pools close at 6pm, including the spa pool, where the only “public” hot tub is. The pool bars and Dome bar stop serving food at 5pm. So there’s no option for getting a casual bite for dinner aside from room service. Just the resort’s (not cheap) restaurants. Some nights there are ala carte food trucks at Core. - Seems like smoking is allowed everywhere. Didn’t see designated areas - The store adjacent to the family pool was closed despite the fact that posted hours indicated otherwise. - We had a few minor customer service issues: Front desk was friendly but it took two requests for them to remove the mini bar items from the fridge so we could keep our own drinks cold. Lunch order at beach bar was wrong. Valet parking will park your car for you but you usually need to retrieve it yourself Overall, we had a great stay and were sad to leave.

We loooove Domes of Elounda!! It was our second time (last time August 2024) and so happy we went again - the facilities are great, the weather amazing! The staff are always gracious and smiling, the spa treatments were relaxing, every little details! The kids (1.5 and 4) didn’t want to leave! The most beautiful beach, variety of restaurants, fun children activities, great outdoor gym with the most amazing view. Would love to return every summer 🙏🏽 thank you for a lovely family time and setting. We are so grateful.

The kids club team are fantastic, led by Eleni Arnaoutaki. They are kind, considerate, and extremely caring towards the children. Every day they run exciting activities such as arts and crafts, yoga, swimming and games outdoors. My kids love going to this kids club which is fantastic for us as we can have a break.

We’ve just come back from an overall lovely week at Domes of Elounda as family of 4 (my children are 5 and 20 months). Pros - rooms are lovely and very spacious. The whirlpool bath on the balcony was a huge plus! - buffet restaurant for both lunch and dinner was delicious. My sons have allergies and management were very accommodating and they had lots of options - vilebrequin restaurant was delicious - the location was stunning! - staff were wonderful! - the beach was great especially for younger kids as the water was shallow and calm with no big waves - amazing teen room Things I think they can improve on: - the golf caddy’s were really helpful getting around most of the hotel, that was not the case for the beach. The hill to the beach was quite steep so that made pushing the buggy up and down a challenge! - overall, I think baby/toddler facilities could be improved. For example, was no baby change facilities available when we took the children to the evening activities at the Core area. I asked a kids club staff member where to I can use and I was told I couldn’t use the kids club facilities so ended up having to wait for a golf caddy to go back to our room. There’s also no baby changing at the beach/Vilebrequin restaurant - the cost for water and soft drinks was expensive. I think having some soft drinks on the half board package would have been great - my children did have a great time at the kids club but my eldest son did say the toys were ‘babyish’. - rooms were maintained well apart from one day housekeeping didn’t come until 5pm, we had to ask them to come back by which point it was turn down service so the room wasn’t properly done. Not a huge problem but something to note. Overall, I think this hotel would have been amazing if we had slightly older children. It was a great stay but I have stayed in more child friendly holidays. If you don’t have children, the hotel would have been nearly perfect!
