We recently returned from our weeks holiday at Domes Aulus Elounda and we absolutely loved it. The views from the resort are stunning especially at sunrise. It’s such a peaceful location, perfect for switching off and relaxing. The staff were all really warm and welcoming, always smiling and happy to help with anything especially arranging our day trip to Santorini . Our room was clean, comfortable, and had an amazing sea view we spent most evenings sitting on the balcony just enjoying the quiet warm evening sunset . Food-wise, we were impressed! Great variety at each meal and everything was fresh with excellent variety. Overall, it was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable breaks we’ve had in years . Can’t fault anything and we’d definitely come back again. Best wishes Darren Smart

We stayed at Domes Aulus Elounda for one week from 8th August. We booked the Cool Living Section of the resort in a Sapphire Zen Suite with outdoor bath tub. Having read previous reviews we requested a room in the 800 block and were very pleased that the resort kindly accommodated our request and allocated us room 826. The room was very clean and spacious with all the amenities you would expect including plenty of wardrobe space. The view from our room was spectacular with very clear view of Spinalonga. We didn't use the outdoor bathtub but enjoyed sitting on the shaded terrace relaxing and admiring the view in the late afternoon. The 800 block is very close to the Cool Living facilities restaurant Greco Levante and the Pool areas which is very convenient. As mentioned in previous reviews the resort is built on a very steep hillside. It is almost impossible to walk up and down from the Cool Living Section to the main hotel due to the incline and lack of sidewalk or steps. There are regular shuttles up and down or you can call for a car at any time. We did find this a little restrictive as we do like to wander around rather than sit by the pool all day. The pool area is beautiful with wonderful views and very comfortable sunbeds. As we are early risers, we didn't have any trouble finding a sunbed. However we did see several guests arriving late morning who were unable to find beds. There didn't appear to be any monitoring of sunbeds being reserved from early morning but not used until later in the day. We contacted the resort before our visit to ensure we could book one of the a la carte restaurants for our anniversary. Mona was extremely helpful both by email prior to our holiday and during our stay. It was a pleasure to meet her. She did her utmost to accommodate our restaurant bookings throughout our stay. Our favourite restaurant by far was Greco Levante. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and lunch there although choices are limited. The A La Carte dinner was excellent. We dined here several times including the special Asian night on Monday which was our favourite. The service and general ambience created by the staff in Greco Levante was fantastic. A special thank you to Marina, Maria and Gregory who work so hard to ensure a high standard of service. You made our stay very special and it was a pleasure to meet you all. Overall, I would say this resort is a solid 4 star rather than 5 mainly due to the limited choice at breakfast and lunch and the difficulty in moving around the resort.

We upgraded to Cool Living Zen Suite with private outdoor jacuzzi Room was beautiful with the most stunning view. No warm water for jacuzzi but in all honesty if using in the day you won’t want extra heat anyway! I would have liked the option of room service and free mini bar refills given 5 star, but it certainly wouldn’t deter me from booking The rooftop cool living pool, bar and restaurant is 100% worth the upgrade and feels night and day from the standard pool area. I do have one BIG criticism. They do not police the guests attending the area AT ALL! We paid extra to access this area, yet getting beds was so difficult because they allowed all hotel guests to use it. They really really need to fix this. There is a lifeguard on duty who has very little to do, seems to me they could get this person to ask for room numbers or to see key (as cool living have different key) at no extra staffing cost. So easy to fix and all cool living guests complained of this. Food was good. Not ‘blow me away’ good but good enough and met my expectations. We had a big birthday whilst there and they were brilliant and making it special. We had a personalised birthday cake, a great table and the band sang happy birthday. We booked a half day semi private catamaran through the concierge and it was absolutely fantastic. The concierge are great and arranged all our restaurants too. The location was amazing! Highly recommend visiting Plaka, Elounda and Agios Nikolaos. A trip to Spinalonga is a must. Also, do take advantage of the hotels free shuttle to Agios! Overall I would definitely recommend staying here. I just think they need to fix the issue with allowing none paying guests in the cool living area.

Honeymoon stay for us ... From sunrise to sundown ... From breakfast in our lovely room to a party with a fantastic DJ by the pool at night... The staff was amazing... From housekeeping to the bar staff (Alexandros X 2 and Manos) make the best Bloody Mary's)... and last but not least management... Fantastic and worth every penny!! Hopefully will go back soon... 🇬🇷👰♂️🤵♂️❤️

We had an amazing week at Domes Aulus Elounda. The room had fantastic views and was very comfortable, the food was always good especially in the cool living area (which is worth paying the extra for) I have a few things to note that didn’t ruin our stay but are worth mentioning. This probably isn’t new to anyone, but the best sun beds with the view by the pool almost always have towels placed on them early in the morning, only for them to stay empty until the afternoon when people returned to their prized spot. This is quite disappointing as the hotel has a policy in place stating that “unsupervised towels will be removed after 30 minutes”. This was never enforced and myself and other guests were left without a sun bed. I saw some conflict when guests took action by themselves. If you’re in the “cool living” area, you will be staying right at the top of the (huge) hill, but unfortunately the restaurant up there is reservation only at dinner time. So if you can’t get a table you will be making your way down to the buffet at the bottom and back up again, which is only a small inconvenience but is still time and effort. Snacks? None - after 10pm there is nothing to eat unless you order room service which of course, costs extra. All of the staff were very attentive and always willing to help. Particularly Alexandros on the bar who was very good at making cocktails and waitress Marina who had a great memory and remembered all of our preferences whenever we sat down for dinner. I would definitely recommend staying here, and I would love to return one day.

We are currenly coming to the end of a 14 night stay. We have not stayed in this area of Crete before but we do travel extensively. There was an initial issue with our room which was dealy with immediately by the guest customer raleations who were outstanding throughout out trip. Kostas and Chrisa offered excellent communicaton and follow up care for the duration of our trip and offered nice little touches throughout. The guest relations services are some of the best we have experienced - Bravo! We are very thankful. The food throughout the hotel is of a very high standard. We are foodies and were delighted with the choices available at all the restaurants. The staff are constantly replenishing the food at the buffet so it is always hot and fresh. Breakfast is a delight with everything you could think of and more. The staff at the bar Alexandros, Panos all the staff are very welcoming and remember your drink orders. They make excellent drinks ! As other reviews have mentioned the staff are lovley. Maria was particularly warm and smiley and we enjoyed her service immensely at all the restaurants. She is q credit to the hotel. The grab and go fridges were very handy, no queueing! The hotel itself is in a beautiful area of Crete set on a hillside overlooking the bay with Spinolonga in the distance. The setting is just breathtaking and you will never tire of it. Just a few pointers for the hotel to continue to strive for excellence *(just our opinion). The pool area for us wasn't quite as luxurious as it could/should have been. The pool needs a revamp and a restyle. Consider improvement to access to toilets and the number of them available for guests. Staff need to be around the pool keeping it clean and tidy throughout the day. Sometimes the buffet restaurant was too busy and staff overwhelemed. The hotel should support with more staff at busy periods as they are working flat out leading to mistakes. We would like to thank all the staff for making our holiday so special. The hotel overall is definitely good value for money with excellent views, food and excellent hard working staff. We would love to return one day.
