Trefeddian Hotel

5 of us dined in the restaurant a few days ago. It was like stepping back in time to a much more sophisticated era. The bar was so comfortable to sit in with pre dinner drinks whilst we perused the menu. We spent some time choosing what we were having only to find out it was a 5 course dinner menu so we got everything we wanted, all for £35pp. An absolute bargain! The staff were so polite and lovely and the food and setting were from an era gone by. I loved it, it was the highlight of my holiday. Can’t wait to go again next time we are that way!

Another brilliant stay. Probably our eighth....not sure. Service as good as ever. Food better than ever. Not everyone has discovered the sunny lounge and balcony on the fourth floor. Long may that remain the case! There is absolutely no sign that service or anything else has changed because the hotel is up for sale. Surely in any case there must be 28000 current and past guests who would each put up £250 to buy a share. Why not? A unique solution for a unique place!

We had dinner here during a recent visit to Aberdovey. The hotel holds and imposing position above the dunes and sea. That is probably the most impressive thing about this hotel. Dinner was good but mundane, only distinguished by a delightful pudding that is their chef’s take on a red fruit crumble. I appreciate feeding guests in a hotel isn’t feeding guests in a restaurant. But, honestly, I expected better.

Had a lovely 2 night stay to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and stayed in room 109 with a fabulous view of the golf course and sea. Everything about our stay was perfect and the food was excellent. We were very lucky with the weather which was a bonus and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

We call this hotel our 'Happy Place'. We return time after time to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and professional service. A place where we are welcomed back as friends. The food, as always is exceptional. A five course menu changed each evening - we have yet to sample the cheeses!! My husband is gluten and lactose intolerant; each evening he was presented with a menu showing him which dishes were suitable. The situation of the hotel is above the road, railway, golf links and sand dunes. It has views to enjoy and, sometimes, spectacular sunsets. We always prefer a sea view room with a balcony and, if I have a criticism to make this time it was with the size of the room. We usually take a family room but none were available this time and we were allocated a very small double. To get into the wardrobe we had to move the tub chairs, and to get onto the balcony we had to move them again. The balcony door wouldn't stay open without someone holding it and there was a sizable step to negotiate to get outside. Having said all of that, we will be returning as the hotel takes some beating. It's elegant, friendly, grown up - and suits us to a 'T'.

Had the pleasure to stay here last week, The place is fantastic the food was fantastic, the staff were amazing and could not do enough for you. Room had fantastic sea views. The views from the lounge are worth the price alone, but add in the 4 course evening meal, and superb breakfast, this has to be great value for money.

Golfing trip away with friends fantastic hotel high standards have been coming to the area for a couple of decades, never disappoints. food and service always to a high standard. Golf course adjacent, 1 min drive to the clubhouse, great location!

Spent two nights at this lovely hotel. Such a fabulous position overlooking the golf course and Cardigan Bay. It's a kind of mini environment where we got sunshine while other nearby areas had rain. Breakfasts were good as was the evening meals. Service in the restaurant was excellent, but a little too fast. The five course menu served by lovely friendly staff. The the staff make this hotel. They are so helpful, motivated and client centred throughout the hotel. Must not forget the house keeping staff as they also made the effort to chat to us. What can I say? Good food. Lovely room with lovely balcony. Nice reception staff, nice bar young man. I just loved the original art work displayed throughout this lovely hotel. Nice restaurant staff. We will definitely return.

We had a gluten free vegetarian and a lactose free person in our party. The restaurant had been told this, and had gone to a lot of trouble to mark the evening's menu to indicate what was already G/F and L/F, and what could be adapted if requested. The food was excellent - particularly good were the seared tuna and the roast beef. The waitress could not have been more friendly and helpful. Also: the dining room is very elegant and pleasant. Highly recommended.
