The best social hostel I've been into awhile. It's designed well, giving you the option to join partying crowd or the social but more laid back crowd. Staff were all great. Facilities were great. Only reason I didn't give facilities a top marks is the blankets to sleep with were more like towels. To compete with a place like Onederz I really recommend you get larger and softer sleeping blankets. Still worth the stay.

Everything was great except for the second morning, when some young people in the next room were listening to loud music and shouting in the corridor at 5 AM. The hotel’s location is very close to Pub Street, making transportation easy. The tuk-tuk drivers waiting in front of the hotel are very friendly and polite, and the hotel staff is the same. Oh! If you're an early sleeper, request a room on the lower floors, as the music from the pool can be loud for sleeping. Much love to the hotel staff 🌺
We had a standard private room and it was one of the best places we’ve stayed throughout south east Asia! Such good value for money, very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The bar downstairs was really cheap, beer for $1 and 3 for 2 on happy hour (2pm - 11pm) the pool area was small but nice although we didn’t get chance to go in as we were too busy. Staff were all really helpful and helped us book our trips and they also offered a laundry service which was great.
Expectation/Reality: The rooms and the photos were pretty close, and you will get pretty much what you expect. The bed is a foam top which isn't bad.
Security: Generally secure. No safe, and the key is attached to the bracelet, but the location and the space felt secure.
Hygiene: Generally good. You may have to ask for fresh towels, but the space itself was clean.
Hospitality: Quite good, everyone speaks english and is fairly competent.
Social Atmosphere: WARNING this is a party hostel. Music will be playing until mid night, so if you want to sleep early you need very good ear plugs. There's lots of events and lots of people to socialize with, typically they are around 21-22 years old, but there are older and younger, generally a good crowd. The volunteers organizing the events are just OK and doing their job, not the most keen or enthusiastic, but reasonably good enough.
Overall: Good value for a private room. Good location to see the touristy sights. BEWARE don't book transport through the hostel. It seems convenient but it not a good experience. You get picked up by a tuk tuk, dropped off outside of town and wait by the side of the road were no one speaks english to get into a jam packed into van with broken AC, and no one speaks english, the van left about an hour behind schedule and when arriving at Phnom Penh, it was a dodgy experience, getting into another van alone to be dropped off into the next hostel. It was an uncomfortable adventure, but I did arrive safe, but if i did it again I would book transport through a provider with more direct responsibility.
Choosing any other hotel or hostel I think is a sin. Super friendly staff, clean, fantastic location to visit the temple as well as the main street of the city. Additionally, there are handful of bikes rental I found besides it, and also seven eleven store, which made it very convenient. And if you're looking for halal food, you can find KFC within walking distance, or there is an Indian halal food restaurant just besides the hotel, however, there is a mosque 6 minutes away behind it with penalty of halal restaurant around it as well.
Very nice and posh ”hostel” (mad monkey is more a corporation now), perfect for young people looking for meeting others, pub crawling and getting frequently drunk.
Check the info you get from the counter (they'll tell you need a taxi to the airport for 30 USD because tuktuks don't go there. Tuktuks actually go asking 15 and you can probably bargain at around 8)

The only advantage of this homestay is the good location, right next to the bar street. A lot of shortcomings. Outdated facilities, small rooms, the triple room we live in, very crowded, no bedside table, only a small table, placed in the bathroom door, the bathroom is also 1 square meter, the shower water is small, the pool is not good. We stayed for 5 days, no one had cleaned the room, and everybody had a bottle of mineral water every day. Ask the boss to have hot noodles, the boss said no, or the next day we found their kitchen to open the water. Said to be a hotel, in fact, is a homestay, completely self-service, there is no service at all.
This hostel was a great introduction to Cambodia! The staff were super friendly and helpful and there were loads of activities going on every night. There is a huge social space which is great for hanging out with friends or working/ digital nomadding. There were also 2 pools for hanging out at during the day. You could basically stay in the hostel and have everything you need if you wanted but it’s also a short walk away from the market and pub street which are both great places to explore. Only downside was the aircon wasn’t so strong. I think they were fixing it though as a workman came in.
Cozy small room, clean. Air conditioning works and there is hot water. Far from the center, but it is convenient to move around on a bike. Overall, a very nice place for the money.

DDima LakhimWe stayed for 3 nights, first booked for a day, and then extended for two more days.
I really liked the attitude of the staff, they are ready to help with any question. We rented a bike and left it at the hotel for the night, in the morning I found the bike in a special room where all the rented equipment of visitors (bicycles and motorbikes) is stored, very nice.
At the reception they printed out my plane tickets for free, thank you!
The air conditioning was always on in the room, it was pleasantly cool (even when we left), there is a breakfast set: water, coffee with cream, sugar and a kettle.
The mattress is good, clean, the pillows are comfortable, we slept well.
The door to the toilet could be better, it's as if it doesn't exist.
The location of the hotel is also very good. Despite the fact that it is located in the very center, the hotel is quiet, you can't hear the noise from all the street cafes, from the pub street and the rest. It's literally a 5-minute walk to them.
Considering the cost per day, this is a great place!
(There is a hotel opposite with a pool where you can swim for $1).
KKai K.Nice little Hotel with very kind Staff. The Room was good for the price but i think a Wardrobe or luggage Rack would be very helpful!
The Location is very central with many good Restaurants, Cafés and Bars just a short walk away. Pub Street and Old Market are also very close and you need roughly 5 Minutes by foot.
UUladzimirThe owner is a scammer. He refused to check us into the hotel according to the reservation we had paid for on trip.com. At the suggestion of a trip.com employee, I paid for the stay at my own expense, while this scammer assured that he had canceled the paid reservation with a refund of my funds and would issue a receipt for payment upon check-out to be presented to trip.com. As a result, when checking out, he refused to provide a receipt, only after a call from an employee did trip.com seem to cancel the previously paid reservation, otherwise they would have received double payment from me. There are also many questions regarding accommodation. You can find a more decent option in the city among normal people.
