New and remodel, nice and clean bed room and bath room. Wifi good. Subway line 8,9,and 10 easy connection and only a few minute walk from the station. Staffs at the front are very nice and helpful. Good restaurant nearby like Starbucks and Tim Hortons, grocery market, and Chinese foods. My most favorite Chinese food restaurant with photo..

Me and my mother had a wonderful stay at Dayin Youth hostel. The room is quite more but aceptable for such a good price and convenient location. All the equipments inside our room are new and does not feel cheap at all. The staffs here are amazing! They are all young but polite and attentive, and some of them speak English very well. I had a problem with my bus ticket and the staff at Dayin helped me call and talk to the bus provider at the middle of the night. Overall we loved our stay here and I'll recommend Dayin Youth hostel to my friends who are planning to visit Shanghai.

Good for solo youth who is looking for a small private room similar to capsule hotel but more facilities. You get to have a small sort of desk and chair to work on your laptop. The place is quite well-equipped with shared bathroom, soap, hair dryer, small towel, waching machine+dryer. There's a limit time used of hair dryer and washing machine due to loud noise as well, around 9am-10pm (check the sign again). You might wanna prepare your own shampoo, conditioner, and slippers for bathroom. Toilet and trash can are cleaned every morning, so at night time will start to be a bit dirty. If you're sensitive about toilet might need to manage your time again. Overall this place fits my personal needs as a solo digital nomad traveler. Walkable to a giant shopping mall where you can find plenty of food, walkable to metro, basic facilities provided. I give 4/5!

The location is great, close to the subway entrance. There are many places to check in when you go out of Huaihai Middle Road. The front desk lady is also very nice. The facilities are also very complete. The bed is great, there is a table and a lamp next to it, and charging is also very convenient. The experience is very good

A tip for future travelers—avoid using Baidu map for directions from the train station to this hotel, as it might take you the long way around. Instead, refer to the location on this page for more accurate guidance and then choose the nearest metro station before you buy your metro ticket. Our room was much smaller than expected; there was barely enough floor space for our luggage, possibly the smallest room in the hotel. The bathroom flooring also connects directly to the room, so water easily spreads onto the room floor. Additionally, the air conditioning struggled on our second night due to central heating controls, but we’re sure the staff did their best to assist. Thank you for your efforts!

The room was ok. The stuff is nice. The shower and the toilet weren't that clean. There's no washing machine so people wash their clothes in the sink as a result there's a lot of water around it.

Good place - location was a bit far from the subway stations (12 minutes walk), but on the plus side you get to see a more local side of Shanghai and lots of food options nearby - you can even get Chinese-style breakfast from a nearby market. Didn't try breakfast at the hostel (looked alright but I prefer Chinese breakfast), but coffee was nice. The room was okay - I've slept in worse hostel rooms in China, but also better ones. The mattress and pillow was fine and the curtain really blocked any light so you can sleep undisturbed even if the main light is switched on, but the room is very narrow and it gets crammed when all the beds are full. Also the air-conditioning and size of the room made it really hot so it was a bit hard to sleep and not so comfortable. We tried opening the window but it didn't do much. The staff was great and very helpful and nice, so the service level was good. Cleaning was good - the bathrooms were cleaned often so even if people made a mess, the 阿姨 was efficient and it would be clean early next morning. Higher standard than in a lot of hostels. Also there were enough toilets, sinks and showers, and most of the toilets are Western toilets. The lobby area is very social and you get to meet lots of friendly people, both Chinese and foreigners. So overall I recommend the place.

My experience here is great. Very clean and nice place located just right near by Shanghai railway station. I would be even happier if you have free instant coffee and tea as well as some snacks in the future.

So, I don't know where to begin. The place has such a good location that it can be a great hostel if worked upon. I can see why someone would lack motivation to do so. Most of the crowd here are locals or local workers. So, naturally the rates cannot be too high. I think the private rooms no might have a better experience. As for the dormitory, i was in the 8 bed. Most locals/workers. Noisy all night long. They don't have a sense of quiet. The two tube lights stayed on all night. Loud thuds of opening door or putting the charger on. Sometimes u can hear people on their phones. I'm not saying it's bad for an option. The price is cheap and location is brilliant. I didn't sleep at all. (I could not). The ac does not get turned on. The cleanliness might be almost average or slightly below. The toilet was alright. No hostel experience or socialising. No amenities as in towels etc. Wifi only in the common area, didn't connect on my bed. Spider webs in the corners, I have a mixed feeling. This place can I improve. For now may be I will avoid it for my next stay. Sleeping is a major issue here. The staff at the reception was nice and friendly. That is a plus point besides the location.

It's an okay hostel for a few nights. The location is great, a subway station, 24/7 convenience store and the Bund are very close. The service is okay, you can buy some drinks or souvenirs there. The washing machines are nice and there are enough so that there is always one free to use (I paid around 4 yuan for washing and another 4 for drying). The rooms are clean (if your roommates are tidy people, I had bad luck so one person was just throwing their trash out of their bed). However, the rooms are very small, so you cannot really put your suitcase down (at least in the 6 people dorm). There is no soap in the restrooms. They also don't have any paper towels in the big bathrooms. Especially the bathrooms could be better. They have a squat toilet and shower in one small room, so the floor is always wet even if you just want to use the toilet. The ventilation could also be better. Especially during the night the bathroom is very dirty, there is hair everywhere. The reception does not speak English very well but they are very nice and helpful so you it doesn't really matter.
