Herz is a reputable company. Pickup and return were excellent, and the service was excellent. However, the airport to the rental location was a 30-minute walk. Picking up the car at the Marriott was a good option, as it was a bit far and there wasn't a shuttle, but the price was good, and the out-of-town return surcharge wasn't much. The car had a previous renter's dessert stuck to the rear seatbelt sockets. There was a strong odor of marijuana smoke in the car, and while I tried to remove it with air freshener, it didn't completely mask it. The car was upgraded from a Chevrolet Spark to a Hyundai SUV with over 20,000 kilometers. We picked it up in Los Angeles and returned it to Vegas smoothly. There's a shuttle bus for returning the car to Vegas, making it very convenient to the airport.
There was a scratch on the car when I got it, and I took a photo to avoid any trouble, but I didn't complain. Herz's service was excellent.

I picked up my car at Los Angeles Airport with a free shuttle. The pick-up process was simple. I was told I had full insurance upfront, and there was no pushback. I only received a $199 deposit plus a $10 deposit. The dealership staff personally walked me through the selection process. The car had over 4,000 miles on it and was in excellent, clean condition. After selecting my car, I scanned the QR code at the exit to register and drove off. Returning the car at San Francisco Airport: I filled up the tank and cleaned the car before returning it. I followed the airport signs to the parking lot. A staff member performed a simple registration process, and I placed the keys on the windshield. The $199 pre-authorization was lifted immediately after returning the car, and the $1 pre-authorization was also lifted eight days after returning home. The entire experience was positive. I chose Hertz primarily because of its numerous locations, making it easy to resolve any unexpected issues. Thankfully, the journey was smooth, with no car thefts or thefts. I really didn't leave anything behind when I left the car, especially in San Francisco, where you need to be extra cautious.

I rented a Kia K4 through Hertz at the Los Angeles airport. When I picked up the car, the staff asked if I needed any insurance, which was explained in Chinese. I opted not to. They gave me a Toyota Corolla in the same class, which was in very good condition, showing just over 5,000 miles, making it relatively new. I drove it for ten days, during which time I encountered an alarm about low tire pressure. The fault was later corrected, and it was likely a false alarm due to the cold weather. When I returned the car, I drove it to a designated location and left the keys with it. The staff walked around the car and didn't raise any objections to even a minor scratch (which I hadn't). They inspected it quickly, which was a great feature. There was also a shuttle service to the airport. I was very satisfied with my rental, primarily with Hertz.
